Kimpton Los Monteros Marbella, a luxury five-star hotel on Spain’s Costa del Sol has been reimagined for a new era by Cristina Carulla Studio. The Barcelona based design firm for interiors, both commercial and residential, renowned for its refined, emotionally resonant approach to interior design, was entrusted with creating an environment that captures the essence of ‘eternal summer’.
While El Equipo Creativo led the transformation of public spaces, the work of Cristina Carulla Studio in the 195 guest rooms blends modern elegance with the timeless allure of Mediterranean living. Evoking memories of the sea, sun and carefree days, the rooms are flooded with natural light, welcoming guests into a tranquil, sun-drenched retreat.
Each room, from the cozy 28 m² Essentials to the grand 125 m² Marbella and Los Monteros Suites, reflects Carulla’s distinctive signature: a calm, nostalgic design language that feels both modern and timeless. With a design philosophy centering on storytelling, each room is framed to enhance the emotional connection between space and guest. From the placement of furnishings to the color palette, the spirit of laid-back Mediterranean living flows throughout, as soothing tones of sea blue, sandy beige and terracotta interplay with organic textures and flowing forms.
Beyond the rooms, the studio’s influence extends into the corridors of the hotel which have been curated as art galleries, offering a dynamic experience between spaces. Carefully selected artworks inject vibrant color and present a celebration of Southern Spain’s artistic soul.
El Equipo Creativo, responsible for all public areas, anchors the hotel in its 1970s roots while layering in contemporary Mediterranean motifs and textures. Together with Carulla’s more intimate contributions, the design harmonizes tradition and modernity.
In total, the project presents a seamless integration of artistry, cultural homage and immersive design. But it is Cristina Carulla Studio that quietly defines the guest experience, turning each room into a personalized journey through sun, texture and nostalgia. Making each room feel like home, reimagined under the golden Andalusian sun.
