Alongside three treatment rooms, a hammam, steam room, sauna, and plunge pool which offers hydrotherapy, there is also a central lounge area set up as a standing bar of refreshments for self-serve. It offers tea, lemon and cucumber infused water, and light snacks such as wasabi nuts and mixed nuts. The Hammam is the perfect way for guests to start their spa experience the Icelandic way. Guests are provided with a beautiful sea salt and essential oil body scrub, remineralising marine mud body mask and face mask to use in the hammam. The gentle warmth activates the products and results in a revitalized you.
The Reykjavik EDITION has carefully crafted signature treatments at The Spa, inspired by Norse runes and Viking traditions of alternating hot and cold on the body. Massages, body wraps and Bioeffect facials are available alongside this. One of the signature treatments is Uruz, inspired by Norse runes. The rune Uruz ᚢ stands for the concept of life force, physical health and persistence against all odds. This treatment uses a synergy of chilled muds, warm salt scrub, hot stones and cool marble massage to encourage circulation, stimulate nerve endings and enchant the senses. Guests experience a salt and oil body scrub, marine mud for the body and face mask, followed by a 45-minute targeted body massage with warm and chilled stones, proven to increase the body's endorphin levels. The BioEffect facial offerings include the Glacier Glow, a rejuvenating treatment utilizing plant-biotech growth factors to stimulate skin regeneration and hydration, and the Volcanic Radiance, a luxurious facial that deeply hydrates and smooths the complexion with gua sha stones, volcanic exfoliation, and targeted serums.
The Reykjavik EDITION, designed in partnership with local architecture firm, T.ark and New York-based studio, Roman and Williams with guidance of ISC (Ian Schrager Company) design, subtly captures the spirit of Reykjavik while avoiding the clichés and remaining firmly rooted in the EDITION brand's strong sense of refined sophistication and style. This extends to The Spa where the walls are covered with Larsh wood planks and black ebonized wood trims with a gray venetian plaster ceiling. The floor of The Spa is made from basalt stone and the large hammam features large white marble slabs, hand-picked and carefully laid out on the wall and an oculus cladded in gold leaf.
The following spa facilities are available at The Spa at The Reykjavik EDITION: Sauna, Steam room, Power showers, Hot tub, Spa changing and relaxation areas. The Spa will be open from 10am-6pm from Wednesday - Saturday, and 12pm-4pm on Sundays.
