Dorchester Collection Unveils Newly Refurbished Hotel Suites
Hôtel Plaza Athénée recently debuted in May their much anticipated Royal Suite. A landmark of 18th century décor, the suite has been revitalized by designer Marie José Pommerau to appeal to contemporary sensibilities with amenities including four Panasonic 3D Full HD system with NeoPDP plasma TVs, two Blu-ray players, and 3D Full HD glasses. Featuring apricot, raspberry, violet, beige and mauve tones, the suite contains four bedrooms, a reception hall, living room, sitting room, study, marble bathrooms, and balconies overlooking Avenue Montaigne with views of the Eiffel Tower. Royal Suite from €20,000.

Designer Charles Jouffre has put the finishing touches on the refurbishment of all guest rooms at Le Meurice in Paris – not least the hotel's Presidential Suites and Salvador Dali apartment. The two first-floor Presidential Suites face the Tuilerie Gardnes and feature high ceilings, 18th century Louis XVI-style furnishings, parquet floors of aged woods and rugs by Braquenié. Presidential Suite rates are on request.

The Dorchester will unveil 22 NEW suites in September 2012, revamped by New York-based interior designer, Alexandra Champalimaud, who was also the lead designer on the recently re-launched Hotel-Bel-Air. Paying homage to the hotel's British, classic residential style, the suites will feature luxurious materials sourced mainly from the UK. Offering one, two and three bedroom configurations with marble foyers, hardwood floors, and marble fireplaces, the in-room technology will include remote touch control lighting and air-conditioning, and mood lighting in the bedrooms and sitting rooms. Park Suites rates from £2,665 exclusive of breakfast and VAT and Dorchester Suites from £3,165 exclusive of breakfast and VAT.
