Emerald Cruises Grows Yacht Cruising Portfolio with Second Luxury Superyacht

Emerald Sakara – a mantra meaning ‘thoughts become things’ – will be the second luxury superyacht for Emerald Cruises and will be welcomed to the yacht cruising fleet in 2023, along with the addition of a new sailing destination – The Seychelles.

Following her maiden voyage through the breathtaking islands of The Seychelles in the Indian Ocean, Emerald Sakara will join sister-superyacht Emerald Azzurra sailing the Mediterranean, Adriatic, Red and Black Seas. The additional capacity is required to keep up with strong demand for Emerald Cruises ocean-going itineraries – which saw Black Sea sailings sell out within two weeks of being released, despite the global pandemic.

Emerald Sakara’s maiden voyage will be the eight-day Tropical Charms of the Seychelles, exploring Port Victoria (Mahé Island), Sainte-Anne Island, Cousin Island, Praslin Island, Grande-Soeur Island, Curieuse Island, La Digue Island and Aride Island.

Construction is underway on the new 110-metre-long superyacht in Ha Long City (Vietnam), with the hull steel already cut. Like her sister superyacht, 88 per cent of cabins on Emerald Sakara enjoy balconies, and more space per guest in the Reflections Restaurant and Horizon Bar & Lounge, than similar vessels of her size.

Guests will experience the large infinity pool, a spa, gym and marina platform with paddleboards, snorkelling equipment and other marina toys available. All guests will enjoy inclusive pricing which includes all onboard meals, complimentary wines, beers and soft drinks at lunch and dinner plus a number of included excursions and onboard activities. Airport transfers, port charges and taxes, Wi-Fi, and onboard gratuities are also included.

The new luxury superyacht is expected to launch early in 2023, with bookings on sale from 28 September, 2021.

“We’ve received enormous interest in yacht cruising since announcing the launch of Emerald Azzurra, and we’re thrilled to be able to announce the building of our second luxury superyacht, Emerald Sakara. The yacht’s name is Sanskrit for the idea of ‘thoughts becoming things,’ and refers to the philosophy that positive thoughts can manifest into reality. We love this idea, which underscores Emerald Cruises’ brand promise of bringing our guests’ luxury yacht cruise dreams to life while offering exceptional value,” said David Winterton, Global Director of Brand & Marketing, Emerald Cruises.

Angus Crichton, Director of Sales, Marketing & Product for Emerald Cruises also mentioned, “We are delighted with the strong response from Australian and New Zealand guests who have embraced our unique superyacht cruising concept. The extra capacity and new destinations the second ship offers, are certain to be welcomed by our travel agent partners and their clients.”

Emerald Sakara is the 11th vessel in the Emerald Cruises fleet – joining nine river cruising Star-Ships and the brand’s ocean-going superyacht Emerald Azzurra, which is due to commence sailing on 28 January, 2022 with the eight-day Best of the Red Sea itinerary.
