Eréma, Milos Now Open: Empiria Group's All-Suite Hotel Makes its Debut

Empiria Group announces the opening of Eréma, a Member of Design Hotels, a 41-suite hotel at Cape Chalaka on the southeastern coast of Milos. The opening marks the group’s arrival on the island, adding Milos to a Cycladic portfolio that already includes properties in Santorini and Paros. Each suite features a private pool and uninterrupted views of the Aegean Sea, while the architecture and interiors draw directly from the landscape and pace of life that define Milos.

Eréma, a Member of Design Hotels, is now open.

“Milos brings a different dimension to our Cycladic portfolio,” said Kalia Konstantinidou, Group Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Empiria Group. “I became fascinated by the island’s geology and the role its minerals have played in shaping both the landscape and its identity. There is a remarkable relationship between the terrain, the light and the experience of being there. Eréma was conceived as a response to that environment, translating those qualities into a hospitality experience that could only belong to Milos.”

“Milos is a natural next step in the evolution of Empiria Group,” said Antonis Eliopoulous, President, CEO and Co-Founder of Empiria Group. “It is an island with a strong sense of identity, extraordinary natural beauty, and growing international appeal. With Eréma, we wanted to create a destination that reflects the character of the island while remaining true to our philosophy of thoughtful hospitality, authentic experiences, and a deep connection to place. We are delighted to introduce our first property on Milos and to continue expanding our presence across the Cyclades.”

All-Suite Living, Shaped by Light and Landscape

The architecture is the work of Aristides Dallas Architects and Micromega Architecture & Strategies, with interiors by Athens-based studio ID Laboratorium. Stone walls echo the island's terrain and curved forms follow the contours of the land, while sunlight moves through the spaces and changes the feel of the rooms from morning to evening. The palette is drawn directly from Milos, using volcanic stone, marble, and soft earth tones to create spaces that feel calm and grounded.

The property’s suites are designed as contemporary takes on Cycladic living, with simplicity, comfort, and a connection to place as the guiding principles. Most of the furniture and interior pieces were custom-made for the hotel and brought to life by local craftsmen, with forms inspired by the island landscape and traditional craft. Bathrooms are clad in Naxian marble, and soft linen textiles, warm timber details, and natural stone surfaces add depth to the design.

All 41 accommodations are suites, each with a private pool and panoramic Aegean Sea views, arranged across four categories:

The Element suites (10 units, 35 sq m / 377 sq ft) are intimate one-bedroom suites with a king bed, rainfall shower, a private terrace with sunbeds, an outdoor dining area, and a private pool.
The Drift suites (3 units, 45 sq m / 484 sq ft) offer a generous, open layout with a king-size bed, a separate living area, and a terrace with a private pool, sunbeds, and open-air dining area.

The Horizon suites (23 units, 45 sq m / 484 sq ft), the hotel's most numerous category of suites, pair a king bedroom and separate living area with a private terrace, private pool and sea views.

The Unity suites (5 units, 75 sq m / 807 sq ft), the hotel’s largest category of suites offers two king-size bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, a separate living area and an expansive outdoor terrace with a private pool and panoramic sea views.

Nightly rates range from €700 for an Element Suite to €1,300 for a Unity Suite, varying by travel dates.

Designed to achieve LEED Gold certification, Eréma is also positioned among the most environmentally conscious hospitality developments in the Aegean. Energy-efficient building systems, responsible material sourcing, native landscaping, and water-conservation strategies are integrated throughout the property to reduce the property’s environmental footprint.

The hotel also houses the third Cycladic boutique by Anthologist, the Athens-based design and cultural brand whose thoughtful selection of objects, textiles, and craft extends the hotel's material narrative and its connection to place.

Medite-Grecian Dining, Sunrise to Sunset

Dining at Eréma is led by celebrated Greek chef and Empiria Group Culinary Director Yiannis Kioroglou, whose Medite-Grecian philosophy centers on authentic local cuisine reinterpreted with modern technique and a deep respect for seasonal ingredients. He first joined Empiria Group in Paros with the opening of Parostia at Cosme in 2022.

Halaka, the sunrise restaurant, takes its name from the landscape around it. Overlooking the expansive infinity pool and open to panoramic sea views, it serves an all-day menu of seasonal Cycladic ingredients, with signature plates such as a Cycladic salad of tomatoes, Paros capers, and soft Milos cheese, ladenia (the island's traditional flatbread with tomato and local cheese), and a traditional Milos pasta with mushrooms.

Akiton, the sunset restaurant, draws its name from one of the ancient names of Milos. As daylight softens, panoramic views set the tone for an evening menu where Kioroglou's cooking spans signature dishes such as grilled Milos manouri cheese with mint and pomegranate, scorpionfish giouvarlákia in a bouillabaisse sauce, and a Milos-style seafood lasagna with saffron, finished with a rum-scented revani. Just beyond, Akiton Bar extends the evening into a more intimate setting, with handcrafted cocktails that lean local, from Tears of Chios, made with Skinos mastiha liqueur, basil, and grapes, to The Mad Lover, a blend of reposado tequila, chili, and cilantro.

Rounding out the gastronomy, Circe Bar, an open-air bar named for Circe, the daughter of Helios, draws on themes of nature and ritual, serving light snacks alongside drinks such as the Summer of Matador, with tequila, watermelon, and pineapple, and a Limone & Basilico spritz, plus a full non-alcoholic and smoothie list.

Wellbeing, Drawn from the Minerals of Milos

Wellness at Eréma centers on Elios Spa, named for the Greek word for the sun and shaped by the mineral character of Milos. Natural light moves through its calm interiors, where three treatment rooms and an outdoor heated pool create space to pause and unwind. The menu spans massage journeys, facials, and body rituals, with formulations by the Swiss cellular-skincare house Swissline by Dermalab range from a deep-tissue massage with locally sourced rosemary and ginger oils to a volcanic mineral wrap of Dead Sea mud and volcanic minerals, alongside facials, lymphatic drainage, and rituals for expectant mothers, couples, and younger guests.

At the heart of the menu is Eréma Earth and Light, a 120-minute signature ritual built around the island's mineral richness and radiant light. Combining precious minerals with the ancient art of gua sha, it pairs a sculpting facial with a relaxing body massage and a dedicated eye ritual, drawing on the same elements that shape the architecture itself.

Beyond the spa, a large infinity pool overlooks the open horizon and the Aegean Sea, while a light-filled fitness center, open around the clock, gives guests a dedicated space to keep their routine.

From a guest programming perspective, Eréma's team offers a variety of experiences designed around the landscape, culture, and traditions of Milos. Guests can set out on sea excursions to hidden coves and the white volcanic cliffs of Kleftiko, reached only by boat, or begin the day with sunrise at the lunar-like landscape of Sarakiniko. On land, the program spans scenic hikes and off-road drives across the island's volcanic terrain, private geological tours, and cultural visits to the capital of Plaka, the colorful syrmata boathouses of Klima, and ancient sites that trace thousands of years of island history. Closer to home, guests can join a wood-carving workshop in a 300-year-old Cycladic house, take a cooking class rooted in local produce, and through Kinship, the group's family program, these discoveries extend to younger travelers, turning shared moments into the heart of a stay.
