Summer is secretly a fantastic time to visit Scottsdale, Arizona. From poolside lounging to kayaking among wild horses, there are endless ways to keep cool in the desert, without the crowds. Mountain Shadows, the sleek new boutique resort, offers perfect events for summer including paddleboard yoga and cocktail classes.

It’s all things Veuve Clicquot with weekend bubbly specials and chic new carts from the classic Champagne house. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., clink glasses during Veuve Happy Hour poolside. Fridays at sunset, enjoy a special Champagne sabering, complimentary tasting and toast on the Hearth '61 patio. After the toast, savor Veuve specials at the bar for the next hour. During both events, Veuve Clicquot is offered at a special price of $15 per glass and $75 per bottle.

Enjoy an afternoon of learning and libations during the Spirited Sipping Seminars at Hearth ‘61. Talented beverage experts will guide you through a tasting seminar and history lesson worth savoring on select Saturdays from 3pm to 4pm. Each seminar is 30 to 45 minutes, priced at $30 per person, with extra time to stick around and savor the knowledge gained (and the spirits poured). Upcoming classes include Top-Notch Tequilas on May 4, Choosing the Right Bourbon on May 18 and Perfect Poolside Cocktails on June 1, with more to be announced soon.

Up your fitness game with a one-of-a-kind paddleboard yoga class, live music and on-board meditation in a setting most sublime. Sunrise & Shavasana is held on select Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. in the pool, with classes on April 27, May 25 and September 14. Jay Graves, an innovator in SUP yoga and a talented musician, will take you on a journey through the water, atop the board and deep into the heart. After class, enjoy a special surf-inspired Longboard cocktail. Space is limited to eight guests; each ticket is $65 and includes a cocktail.
