Created exclusively for Esperanza guests, the new series of activities provides intimate ways to explore Baja California by land and sea with experiences including swimming with whale sharks, whale watching, sea kayaking, surfing with locals and desert car racing.

Below is a line-up of Esperanza's new Auberge Adventures, available this fall through March 2013:

• Baja 1000 Desert Racing: Spend a full day of "hands-on" learning behind the wheel of a modern day professional desert racing car in the exciting and challenging off-road Baja outback region. With exclusive open-wheel cars equipped with the performance safety of a modern desert racer, certified guides will take guests through back roads, villages and open Baja terrain to experience the thrill of car racing first-hand. $700/person

• Sea Kayaking: Guests can explore ocean ecosystems of Baja California while kayaking through scenic coastal sites and learn about the geology, ecology and history of Cabo while navigating through the oceanic terrain. The three-hour adventure includes a tour of private remote islands and white sandy beaches, snorkeling and an experience to interact with marine life in the beautiful turquoise waters. $550/person

• Swim with Whale Sharks: Spotter planes, boats and expert guides will navigate guests through the waters outside of La Paz to popular feeding grounds where they will swim with whale sharks measuring up to 40 feet and watch these gentle giants feed on plankton. Guests can get up close and personal with the friendliest big fish in the world and this eight-hour trip includes roundtrip ground transportation to La Paz, an authentic Mexican breakfast, lunch and snacks prepared by Esperanza, wet suit and snorkel equipment as well as underwater photography and videography upon request. $250/person from October 2013 – March 2014

• Whale Watching Tour: After their long journey from Alaska, gray whales arrive to the shallow and warm waters of Guerrero Negro, San Ignacio and Magdelena Bays in the Baja California Peninsula. Esperanza guests can enjoy an intimate whale encounter experience, getting up close to these friendly gray whales and maybe even witness the birth of a baby whale. This eight-hour excursion begins with a flight on a Cessna Grand Caravan plane over the peninsula coastline with fascinating views of the whale sanctuaries and includes a tour from a certified guide, roundtrip ground and aerial transportation, lunch at a local seafood restaurant and flight bites provided by Esperanza. $650/person from December 2013 – March 2014

• Surf with Locals: Guests can experience the thrill of riding a wave at Santa Lucia de Los Cerritos, one of the most famous surfing beaches in Los Cabos and the Baja of Mexico. This beautiful renowned surf spot draws locals and visitors alike who want to enjoy the sunshine and the perfect waves for surfing. The adventure includes private surfing lessons by knowledgeable and experienced local professionals who will share their expertise in the glories of surfing and guarantee that guests will be riding or standing on a wave during the first lesson. $325/person
