Exciting Hotel Openings this Spring, Summer, Fall

Three things to look forward to in the coming months: longer days, warmer weather and the opening of some of the year’s most anticipated hotels. For those who have put travel on hold the past two years, the hotels and resorts listed below, all opening this spring, provide great reasons to plan a vacation.

Villa La Valencia Beach Resort & Spa – Los Cabos, Mexico (pictured)
Opening March 2022

This all-inclusive optional, record-breaking luxury resort is coming to Los Cabos this spring. Located along Golden Beach, the new resort features the destination’s longest lazy river measuring 1,148-feet with an art-mural bottom. Standout amenities include an ocean facing infinity pool, contemporary suites outfitted with private terraces, four Jacuzzis, multiple gourmet dining concepts and a luxury spa with hydrotherapy circuit. The 308-key resort’s sprawling suites offer room configurations up to four bedrooms allowing enough space for guests of all ages to relax. With a prime vantage point on the Sea of Cortez, guests will also be able to enjoy a full schedule of resort activities, such as beach volleyball, dance and cooking classes, in addition to a Kid’s Club run by a fully trained staff. Families can take advantage of Villa La Valencia’s Blooming Spring Savings deal where kids stay and eat free and travelers receive $150 USD in resort credit. Chapter House – Cape Cod, MA
Opening April 1

Chapter House, the newest boutique inn from Baxter Hospitality (the group’s second adaptive reuse renovation project in New England), will officially open in the heart of Cape Cod this April 2022. A historic property dating back to 1716, guests at the 21-room inn can enjoy an escape from metropolitan life while luxuriating on the inn’s expansive lawn over a specialty cocktail or socially distant outdoor games with fellow guests. The inn will debut with a selection of experiences designed with regional, work-remote travelers in mind, including “work from hotel” programs, where guests seeking a change of scenery can immerse themselves in the Cape’s beautiful landscapes and swap coffee for nature breaks. Companies in need of an office retreat, or couples looking for an intimate wedding escape can take advantage of the inn’s full buyout capabilities. Ideally located on Old King's Highway (Historic Route 6A) guests have their pick of activities year-round, beaches and water sports during the summer, while fall activities including uncrowded strolls down the beaches, wandering Cape stores, and delicious seafood dinners while enjoying a fall Cape Cod sunset.

ROKA – Naoshima, Japan
Opening April

Situated on Japan’s internationally famous art island, Naoshima, Roka will be Japan’s most anticipated 2022 hotel opening. At Roka modern art meets Japanese Spirit and this intimate boutique inn houses only 11 rooms with the majority having in-room open air baths, a rarity in Japan. The entire hotel also serves as an exhibition for young, cotemporary Japanese artists as their artwork will be displayed in guest rooms, the restaurant, and everywhere in between.  will open in April 2022 just in time for the Setouchi Art Triennale which is planning on featuring 150 new international artists. New artists and artwork will join existing design work from the celebrated Yayoi Kusama and the iconic architect from Tadao Ando. At Roka guests will receive front-row seats to Japan’s most up-and-coming artists and also some of Japan’s design legends. This hotel opening is not to be missed.

Rock House – Providenciales, Turks and Caicos
Opening May

This May brings the opening of Grace Bay Resorts’ anticipated new luxury resort Rock House, further elevating Turks and Caicos as a coveted destination for luxury travelers. As a response to the all-inclusive beach resorts typically found in the Caribbean, Rock House will be a cliffside Mediterranean-inspired hideaway, offering guests privacy and space—two priorities for travelers in today’s world—through spacious studio suites and single-family homes. Botánika Osa Peninsula, Curio Collection by Hilton – Costa Rica

Positioned beside Costa Rica’s two prized jewels: Corcovado National Park and the Pacific Ocean’s Golfo Dulce, guests will find the soon-to-open (May 2022) eco-resort Botánika Osa Peninsula, Curio Collection by Hilton. Situated within the Osa Peninsula, recognized as “the most biologically intense place on Earth” (source: National Geographic), Botánika Osa Peninsula serves as a jumping-off point for immersive ocean and rainforest experiences from paddling alongside a gentle 40-foot whale shark and renowned sport fishing to hiking the Finca Raices de Osa Farm to indulge in hand-caught tilapia and guided night hikes. Guests will lay their heads to rest in striking open floor studio, 1-, 2-, or 3-bedroom rainforest residences outfitted with floor-to-ceiling windows, oversized terraces and a private rooftop lounge area fit for nature viewing and stargazing. Buahan, A Banyan Tree Escape – Bali, Indonesia

Banyan Tree Escape, a new brand extension of the award-winning Banyan Tree, will launch in Spring 2022 with its first location, Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape in Bali, Indonesia. Comprised of no more than 20 open-air villas, each location offers space for personal discovery through a rewilding of self via a “no walls, no doors naked experience in communion with nature.” Signature to each Banyan Tree Escape are echotherapy experiences derived from sounds native to each location. For example, at Buahan, A Banyan Tree Escape, guests experience the soundscape of dawn orchestrated by local birdsong, deconstructed via cymatics to create a visual encounter with nature. Banyan Tree Escape retreats are constructed with sustainable, locally sourced materials, and all toiletries are produced on-property, supervised by Banyan Tree Spa specialists. With a focus on zero-waste, culinary offerings are prepared with regionally sourced ingredients in a fully open back of house setting, creating the essence of communal living.

The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMadOpening July 2022 in New York City

Situated at Broadway and 28th street, The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad combines the brand’s legendary service with refined elegance. Conceived as a pillar of Manhattan’s renowned Floral District, the 250-key hotel is developed by Flag Luxury Group and designed by world-renowned design teams including Rafael Viñoly Architects, Rockwell Group, Lazaro Rosa-Violan Studio, Martin Brudnizki, and SUSSURUS International. Suites offer expansive living spaces filled with bespoke furnishings and artwork alongside breathtaking views across the city’s most iconic sights. The hotel boasts legendary restaurants and bars by Michelin-starred chef José Andrés, including Zaytinya, offering an innovative mezze menu inspired by Turkish, Greek and Lebanese cuisines served up in a sleek and modern setting, The Bazaar, a new iteration of the high-end avant-garde dining destination opening later in 2022, and Nubeluz, a rooftop bar where guests can drink 500 feet in the air. Canoe PlaceOpening August 2022 in Hampton Bays, Long Island

Canoe Place is a treasured Long Island landmark founded in the 17th century as the Canoe Place Inn. For hundreds of years, Canoe Place became known as the “First Stop out East,” where friends, families and cultures have gathered for generations. The restoration of the property includes 20 guest rooms, five guest cottages, and luxury residences on nearly six meticulously landscaped acres that also include a 350-seat private event space and 90-seat restaurant with outdoor seating for 120 guests. The property also features a full-service spa by ONDA Beauty on-site. Canoe Place blends the comforts and intimacy of a family home with the amenities of a boutique seaside resort, all meticulously designed as a gathering place for visitors and local residents. The property’s interiors, designed by acclaimed Brooklyn-based Workstead, are an homage to its storied past as a welcoming and dynamic waterside retreat.

Dining: Canoe Place will feature a range of transportive food and beverage experiences that share a common language of seasonal ingredients and local flavors showcasing the region’s bounty.  Working in partnership with the East End community of farmers, artisanal makers and fishermen, the team at Canoe Place will source only the highest quality and freshest ingredients. Menus will change and flow with the seasons and be an inspired tribute to field and sea. The MorrowOpening Fall 2022 in Washington DC
