The Gondola Village at Ocean House, located on the scenic Atlantic coast in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, is a luxuriously cozy private dining venue which transports guests to the French Alps, with delightful in-gondola breakfast, lunch, afternoon Apéro, and dinner menus. These transporting experiences are perfect for a romantic rendezvous for two or a warm gathering of friends.
Guests will arrive on Ocean House’s North Lawn to enter a fully restored vintage ski gondolas for a private dining experience with a personal server. Each gondola has been outfitted with warm woods, fine textiles, chandeliers and sophisticated Le Creuset tableware, surrounded by an enchanting winter wonderland.
Guests will begin the day with a charming in-gondola breakfast experience, starting with yogurt parfait and fresh fruit, followed by your choice of sweet or savory crêpes, like banana, Nutella, and whipped cream, or ham, Gruyere, Dijon mustard cream, and sunny side egg. Plus a sweet ending with Valrhona hot chocolate and warm beignets.
During the day and evening, guests are welcomed with a signature Veuve Clicquot Rich Rosé cocktail, followed by a heartwarming four-course meal. The French menu selections include French onion soup, boeuf bourguignon or white mushroom stew and braised lamb shank.
An “Apéro” afternoon or pre-dinner experience is also offered, whereby guests will enjoy indulgent Valrhona hot chocolate and the choice of sweet or savory crêpes. Additional inspired menu highlights include warm berry compote, fresh berries, and whipped cream, and spinach, artichoke and brie cheese.
Each seating allows the choice of one gondola with a limit of up to four guests, and a portion of proceeds from Gondola Village will benefit the Ocean House Fund for Charitable Giving.

Located on the scenic Atlantic coast in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, Ocean House was originally built in 1868 as a summer home attracting distinguished guests in the early 1900’s. The grand Victorian hotel was a beach resort where generations of families and guests from American came ‘to summer.’ It closed in 2003 when it was deemed beyond repair and in 2004 the concept of a new structure replicating the original exterior design was conceived.
