Welcomed to the wilds of the iconic African grasslands, guests will enjoy wildlife sightings and game drives at famed photographer-guide Alex Walker's Serian Serengeti South Camp before moving on to meet the Hadzabe people. Descendants of Tanzania's aboriginal hunter-gatherer population, the Hadzabe, who speak a unique click language, continue to practice their traditional way of life and will welcome guests to their mobile fly-camps, teaching the natural methods of tracking game and foraging. This is a homestay like none ever experienced – in the wilds of Africa, the cradle of mankind.

Pricing begins at $12,000* per person, double, for departures running Dec. 2014 – Apr. 2015, and Dec. 2015 – Apr. 2016 if booked by Dec. 31st, 2014. Package includes most meals, intra-continental transportation and most activities; international flights are not included.

A minimum of four people (maximum eight) are required for this trip.

Highlights Include:

• Stay at Arusha Coffee Lodge, a colonial-style boutique lodge built amid a working coffee plantation;
• Stay at Serian Serengeti South Camp (within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area) owned by famed photographer and guide, Alex Walker, and enjoy guided game drives;
• Spend three days fly camping and exploring the bush with indigenous Hadzabe and learn first-hand how to harvest honey, light fires, construct bows and arrows and track prey.
The adventure in Tanzania begins in Arusha, where guests will spend their first night at the colonial-style boutique Arusha Coffee Lodge, where picturesque cottages and gardens are set amidst a working coffee plantation.

The next morning, guests will fly to Ndutu in the Southern Serengeti, where guides will escort them through the short grass plains that are home to the annual Great Wildebeest Migration in February-March. Travelers will spend two nights at the luxury Serian Sengeti South Camp, owned by famous photographer and guide, Alex Walker. This intimate, eight-tent camp within the Ngorongoro Conservation area is known for its comfortable accommodations, excellent food and rich variety of wildlife on daily game drives.

A unique experience awaits on the fourth day, where travelers will explore the African bush accompanied by the Hadzabe, a hunter-gatherer people who still live a largely traditional life with their own distinctive click-based language. Spend the next three nights with the Hadzabe in a custom-built fly-camp of simple dome tents and campfire dinners, and days learning how to harvest honey, construct bows and arrows and track wildlife. This extraordinary time among the Hadzabe will give travelers an once-in-a-lifetime chance to see the wild beauty of the African landscape through the eyes of its ancient people.

Returning to the Serian Serengeti South Camp for the three final nights, guests can put their new-found bush skills into practice as they scan the horizon for sightings of cheetah, wild dog and wildebeest. Private vehicles, guides and spotters are provided by the camp.
