Fairmont Vancouver Named Best Airport Hotel in North America
Continuing with its inaugural recognition of 2011, The Fairmont Vancouver Airport was ranked for the second year running as North America's number one airport hotel. In addition, the hotel also was included in the World's Top 10 Airport Hotels list.

A sophisticated gateway to one of the world's most vibrant cities, The Fairmont Vancouver Airport is conveniently located above the USA Departures Level of the Vancouver International Airport. The hotel offers 392 spacious, fully soundproofed and beautifully appointed guestrooms and suites, all with floor to ceiling views of the airport runways, ocean and mountains. The hotel's “Quiet Zone” floor has day use rooms available for travellers on long layovers, while a hypoallergenic floor offers several low-allergen amenities. Other hotel features include Globe@YVR restaurant and Jetside Bar, both boasting amazing views of the runway and award-winning Pacific Northwest cuisine; a full service day spa and health club, complete with indoor mechanized lap pool; and state-of-the-art meeting facilities with over 8,800 square feet of space.

The annual World Airport Survey, performed by Skytrax, collected responses from more than 12 million questionnaires distributed to passengers around the world, representing over 108 nationalities and covering more than 375 airports worldwide. Airline travellers voted for the world's top 10 airport hotels, with over 927,000 guests rating their hotel experiences. The Skytrax survey was established in 1999, and is held in high esteem for the clarity of the process and rigorously applied rules of total independence. The results are based on unsolicited customer survey responses. Hotel guests nominated their favourite airport hotel based on 16 key performance indicators of their experiences, the criteria including comfort and cleanliness of rooms, standard of food and beverage outlets and hotel staff service quality. The location and ease of transfer between terminal and hotel was also an important item of customer satisfaction.
