Fairmont's World-Class Golf Vacations in Hawaii and Mexico
They also just so happen to be neighbors with two of the world’s highest ranked golf courses – Wailea Golf Club’s Gold Course (Golf Digest’s 100 Greatest Public Courses, U.S.) and Mayakoba’s El Camaleón Golf Course (Golfweek’s Best Courses of Mexico & Caribbean). This spring, the resorts have partnered with the golf clubs to provide sophisticated golf travelers two of the world’s best golf vacation experiences.

The Fairmont Kea Lani

Located on picturesque Polo Beach in Wailea, The Fairmont Kea Lani is Hawaii’s only all-suite-and-villa luxury oceanfront resort. Its lush, 22-acre tropical landscape offers an incredible array of water sports and authentic Hawaiian cultural experiences as well as world-class luxury. The resort also is adjacent to the acclaimed Wailea Golf Club, offering 54 holes of golf – The Gold Course, The Emerald Course and Old Blue.

The Gold Course played host to the Wendy’s Champions Skins Game from 2001 to 2007. It currently hosts the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association Tournament of Champions and will host this year’s Boys’ Junior America’s Cup. The Gold Course has been ranked among the country’s best golf courses by GOLF Magazine and Gold Digest, as well as one of the world’s best designed golf courses by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the Gold Course features ocean and mountain views from every hole.

Not to be outdone, the Emerald Course, also designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., has been rated among the best golf courses in North America by both GOLF Magazine and Golf Digest. It features stunning views of the blue Pacific and Maui’s central mountain, Haleakala, as it plays through picturesque groves of fragrant trees and flowers.

Guests can enjoy this enchanting destination with the Birdies, Bogeys and Breakfast Golf Package. The package includes accommodations in a luxurious one-bedroom suite or villa, one round of golf for two daily at Wailea Golf Club, ground transportation to and from the golf club, deluxe buffet breakfast at Kea Lani Restaurant for two adults daily, and TaylorMade golf club rentals complimentary for Fairmont President’s Club members (subject to availability).

Rates start from $824 USD per night, based upon double occupancy.

Fairmont Mayakoba (pictured at top)

Recently selected among the Top 10 Resorts in Cancun and the Yucatan by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler, Fairmont Mayakoba is located between Cancun and Playa del Carmen on the magnificent Riviera Maya.

With a spectacular beach and an exotic setting comprised of four distinct ecosystems (dune, water canals, tropical forest and mangroves), the resort’s 401 guestrooms include lagoon and jungle view casitas as well as opulent beach-area suites. Accommodations include private balconies, spa-style bathrooms and luxurious amenities. The 47-acre resort also features two AAA 4-Diamond restaurants as well as other casual dining options.

The 20,000-square-foot Willow Stream Spa features 20 treatment rooms including a unique couple's suite in the treetops, plus two mineral pools and steam rooms. A thoughtfully crafted menu of services includes exclusive Willow Stream treatments, some of which incorporate indigenous ingredients and ancient native traditions, as well as the award-winning spa’s signature experiences.

Truly unspoiled, the sugar-soft beach at Fairmont Mayakoba is reached via a pathway across the mangrove and gentle dunes - a pleasant stroll or ride from the main resort building and just steps from the beachfront casitas. There are five swimming pools throughout the property including a 10,000 square foot free-form pool and waterslide, a children's play pool, and an adults-only infinity edge pool overlooking the lagoon.
Guests of Fairmont Mayakoba enjoy access to the acclaimed Greg Norman-designed El Camaleón Golf Course, home of the PGA TOUR’s OHL Classic at Mayakoba.

El Camaleón bends through tropical jungles, dense mangroves and oceanfront stretches of sand with holes bisected by massive limestone canals. In fact, indigenous and environmentally inspired design aspects are evident from the opening fairway, which houses an imposing cenote, an ancient, underground cavern common to the area that was unearthed during the initial stages of the course’s construction.

Guests can experience this unique environment with Fairmont Mayakoba’s Best of Two: Ultimate Golf and Spa Vacation Package. The package includes: Luxurious accommodations, guest’s choice of daily unlimited play at El Camaleón or $100 daily non-cumulative spa treatment credit at Willow Stream, on-property eco boat tour, complimentary use of bicycles to tour the property, use of tennis and paddle courts with racquets and balls, on-property use of sea kayaks and guided catamaran tours. Rates begin from $599 USD per room, per night, double occupancy, plus tax and resort fee.
