Fashion's Favorite Hotels in Europe

With the summer of Europe in full swing and September fashion week just around the corner, we were inspired to pull together a few of fashion’s favorite hotels in Europe.

HOTEL CALA DI VOLPE

Hotel Cala di Volpe, the iconic and storied property on Sardinia’s stunning Costa Smeralda, announced a second year of partnership with Dolce&Gabbana. The Collection, which launched on July 2022, offers travelers exclusive new pieces inspired by the picturesque landscapes of Sardinia and the hotel itself. The Cala di Volpe Exclusive Collection by Dolce&Gabbana returns with new palette and prints, available only in Dolce&Gabbana’s pop-up store in the hotel. The 2022 Exclusive Collection features caftans, t-shirts, caps, swimsuits and accessories, for both men and women. With this Collection, Dolce&Gabbana pays tribute to the luxuriant Cala di Volpe bay, rich in Mediterranean vegetation where hedges, beautiful groves full of bougainvillea and gerberas, blend with some of the typical patterns of the brand’s iconic heritage, such as flowers and polka dots in different colors mixed with traditional sailor knots, immediately recalling the world of the sea. This new print features an original collage made of postcards in vivid, sunny colors, where bright blue water and small glimpses of coastal towns are featured, taking everyone on an imaginary journey to an ideal dream holiday location. The Cala di Volpe Exclusive Collection by Dolce&Gabbana once again celebrates Hotel Cala di Volpe as the luxury lifestyle authority in the Mediterranean, an ever-changing masterpiece of art in the glamorous natural playground of Costa Smeralda which celebrates its 60thanniversary as a luxury destination this year.

IL SERENO

Il Sereno Lago di Como is an intimate and contemporary ultra-luxury hotel unlike any other set directly on the shores of Lake Como. Housing the likes of Cartier for its high jewelry launch last summer, the design-forward hotel loved by the fashion set features an iconic design by Patricia Urquiola, the celebrated Milan-based designer behind some of the most important Italian and international fashion and design houses, including Baccarat, Louis Vuitton and Milan’s Missoni store. Exclusively for the hotel, Urquiola has designed new silk foulards inspired by views over Lake Como from the hotel’s new shoppable Signature Penthouse suite, which is inspired by “Italian 50’s and Como Silks”.

The Mandarin Oriental, Milan

Mandarin Oriental, Milan is housed in four elegant 18th Century buildings ideally located in via Andegari, in the fashionable heart of the city. The hotel offers a charming mix of style and luxury, with 70 elegant rooms and 34 spacious suites. Guests can discover exquisite dining in the beautiful setting of Italian fine dining restaurant Seta, run by acclaimed chef Antonio Guida, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Mandarin Garden. Both venues have access to two beautiful outdoor courtyards, offering al fresco dining options. The 900 square-meter Spa features six treatment rooms, a hair salon, a manicure and pedicure studio, a fitness center and an indoor swimming pool.

Hôtel Plaza Athénée, Paris

Hôtel Plaza Athénée is THE Haute Couture address located on the prestigious avenue Montaigne, the famous avenue of couture, with a view of the Eiffel Tower at one end, and the Champs-Elysées at the other. Dior and Hôtel Plaza Athénée have enjoyed a long and illustrious relationship stretching back 70 years – an anniversary well worth celebrating. In fact, it was Hôtel Plaza Athénée that originally inspired Christian Dior to open his first atelier on avenue Montaigne. This is where icons and trends are born and love stories have played out since 1913. Sleep peacefully in beautiful rooms, surrounded by Parisian splendor and the famous art of hospitality. Iconic, inspiring, original and utterly magnificent. At Hôtel Plaza Athénée a unique and delightful experience awaits.

Claridge's, London

Fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg had a long relationship with Claridge's, resulting in her first interiors work being commissioned by the hotel. Her fellow guests include Aristotle and Jackie Onassis, and The Queen Mother, whose favorite table in the restaurant is always dressed with sweet peas. Claridge’s was adopted by a new generation of models, designers, musicians and artists. Kate Moss celebrated her 30th birthday here. Jade Jagger and Lulu Guinness describe the hotel as their ultimate treat and Alex James says Claridge’s is just “perfect”. Diane von Furstenberg launched four rooms and suites she designed as part of her first interiors project.
