Fisher Island Club Marina Gets $6.6 Million Overhaul

Fisher Island Club, one of the most exclusive private resort communities in the world located off the tip of Miami Beach, has completed an extensive $6.6 million overhaul and renovation of its Vanderbilt Marina with the installation of new concrete floating docks and upgrades to the infrastructure.

Long-recognized as a world-renowned haven for mega yachts, Fisher Island Club’s new marina renovations will further enhance the exclusive lifestyle enjoyed by members and guests, creating a cutting-edge nautical sanctuary just in time for the prime winter yachting season. Home to the privileged global elite, Fisher Island Club provides a high degree of privacy and world-class amenities, including golf, tennis, a full-service spa, fine dining, and the prestigious Fisher Island Club Hotel & Resort – a member of Leading Hotels of the World, among other distinctive services.

Offering two state-of-the-art, breakwater protected deep-water marinas – including the only private deep-water marina in Miami – Fisher Island Club’s Vanderbilt Marina has over 100 slips, and can accommodate luxury yachts up to 250 feet. The marina’s prime location allows yachtsmen to be in the Gulf Stream within minutes, and has long-served as the gateway for mega yachts, whether heading to the Mediterranean or the Caribbean.

Recently completed by general contractor Bellingham Marine, Fisher Island Club’s newly-upgraded concrete floating docks will propel the marina into the modern age of superyacht moorage, providing improved access for a range of vessel sizes and types, and an increased capacity to handle small power boats and superyachts.

Additional benefits include their ability to accommodate sea level changes in South Florida, while also enhancing the overall aesthetic and experience for guests. Built to last for more than 50 years with a 36” freeboard foe ease of boarding, high-performance components including 60’ 24” diameter steel pilings set 35’ into the seabed and sealed in 26” diameter HDPE pile sleeves, stainless steel weldments, fiberglass thru-rods, concrete modules and new GTX mega yacht power units, the new docks are built to withstand forces of nature including hurricane-force winds.

Boasting water depths of 15 feet leading up to the entrance to both marinas (eight feet within the inner marina and 12 feet within the outer marina), Fisher Island Club’s entry breakwaters ensure calm and comfortable berths. Additional marina amenities include complete electrical and water connectivity, an on-site ship store, available yacht and fishing charters as well as a seaplane ramp to launch small boats.

Accessible only by a seven-minute ferry ride or by private yacht and renowned as the former winter estate of William K. Vanderbilt II and his family, Fisher Island Club, a 216-acre tropical paradise, features its own palm-lined private beach, Fisher Island Club Hotel & Resort, a championship 9-hole P.B. Dye-designed golf course, eighteen tennis courts including all four “Grand Slam” surfaces, seven casual and formal dining venues, a full-service spa, salon and fitness center, an observatory for stargazing, and even an aviary with over a dozen exotic birds. Fisher Island has consistently ranked as the wealthiest zip code in America, most recently in April 2018 by Bloomberg.
