Four Seasons Explorer Palau is adding a new northern route to Kayangel, giving guests access to one of the archipelago’s most remote island communities.
The luxury catamaran is the only vessel to visit both Palau’s northern and southern islands. The Kayangel itinerary will operate when sea conditions allow.
Just 1.4 square kilometres in size, Kayangel is known for clear water, white-sand beaches and a small local community whose daily life centers on fishing, farming and long-held island traditions. Accessible only by boat, it offers a quieter counterpoint to Palau’s better-known Rock Islands in the south.
A stop in Kayangel includes access to a stretch of shoreline reserved for Four Seasons Explorer guests, where a beach lunch is served with vegetarian and seafood bento boxes. The menu includes Mediterranean-influenced salads, rolls and mains, such as watermelon and feta, avocado and caponata, Niçoise salad, yuzu-dressed prawn and grilled cod, followed by apple pie.
The new route joins Four Seasons Explorer’s existing itineraries across Palau, where guests can dive and snorkel within the country’s protected marine territory, kayak through the UNESCO-listed Rock Islands Southern Lagoon, and take guided excursions exploring Palauan culture and landscapes. On board, the 22-guest vessel offers daily embarkations, with flexible itineraries shaped by conditions and guest interests.
Days may include diving, snorkeling, kayaking, cycling, village visits and marine-biology presentations, alongside yoga and dining on board. On October 1, 2026, Four Seasons Explorer will also open M-Dock, a waterfront restaurant, bar and lounge that extends the experience ashore.
