From Miami to St. Maarten: The Setai’s Next Chapter in Hospitality Design

The Setai Hotel & Residences properties are known for becoming part of the fabric of the cities they inhabit, with each destination reflecting its surroundings while maintaining a foundation of design and highly tailored service.

The Setai, Miami Beach, an international leader in hospitality, has become part of the cultural rhythm of South Beach itself. The Setai pairs its original architecture with Asian-inspired design influences, along with a reputation for highly personalized service, expansive accommodations and a notably private atmosphere.

That same approach carries through with exceptional dining experiences at The Setai, led by Executive Chef Vijayudu Veena. The culinary program is anchored by signature concepts like Jaya, its Southeast Asian flagship, alongside the oceanfront Ocean Grill and newer additions, including Japón and the reimagined Jo’s Bar.

The Miami location also holds membership with The Leading Hotels of the World; is recognized as an AAA Five Diamond hotel and a two Michelin Guide Key holder; and has been awarded the coveted Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Award consecutively since 2015.

Opened in 2018, The Setai Tel Aviv continues that approach within a restored Ottoman-era landmark near Jaffa, integrating the property into a different historic context while maintaining the same emphasis on intimacy, design integrity and tailored service. Japón extends a shared culinary thread across the brand, alongside Kishle Bar, which reflects a more local expression through its cocktail program.

Looking ahead, The Setai St. Maarten, a 180-key villa-and-suite resort coming in 2028, expands this philosophy into the Caribbean for the first time. Set within Indigo Bay’s natural landscape, the property is shaped by its surroundings while also carrying forward The Setai’s signature elements. This includes a beach club with dedicated cabanas and butler service, three pools, a 30,000-square-foot destination spa, tennis and pickleball courts, on-beach water sports, and access to a protected Nature Reserve. The culinary program introduces five restaurant concepts, including Ocean Grill Beach Club and Jaya, both drawing inspiration from Miami’s dining program.

The St. Maarten property is an evolution, carrying forward the DNA of The Setai, Miami Beach, while taking inspiration from the Caribbean environment.
