Galapagos Islands' Pikaia Lodge Unveils First Phase of Renovation

Pikaia Lodge, the luxury eco-lodge located in the Galapagos Islands, has unveiled the first phase of its renovation. Inspired by the surrounding landscape, the updates include redesigned guest rooms, the lobby and front desk area, as well as a brand-new DNA bar.

The refreshed spaces incorporate neutral furnishings, natural materials such as exposed wood ceilings, handcrafted ceramics, and bespoke pieces created by Galapagos artisans. An exclusive collection of artwork by renowned Ecuadorian artists is also displayed throughout the lodge, celebrating the region's culture and craftmanship.

With sustainability at the core, every corner has been intentionally crafted to reflect Pikaia Lodge's commitment to preserving the natural environment and beauty of the islands. The architecture and interiors draw inspiration from the organic forms of ancient mangroves, volcanic lava flows, endemic wildlife, and the geological history of the archipelago.

The renovations further enhance Pikaia Lodge's offerings of comfort and service in a remote, protected area. Its unique land-based exploration concept allows guests to discover the Galapagos Islands without following a traditional cruise itinerary. Tailor-made programs combine luxury accommodations and leisure time at the lodge with private excursions led by expert guides and time aboard the private yacht.

With just 14 rooms, the Relais & Châteaux property offers an intimate atmosphere with panoramic views, an infinity-edge pool, spa, fitness center, fine dining restaurant, and its own private giant tortoise reserve.

The first phase of the renovation will be available to guests when the lodge reopens for the season on November 7, with additional renovations to follow in early 2027, including a new Homo Sapiens Lounge. Renderings of the project can be found here.
