Scotland’s most celebrated country estate, Gleneagles Hotel, will open its glorious Summer Lawn for the season on 27 May. Reminiscent of traditional seaside fare, the pop-up will see a decadent Seafood Bar & Grill at its centre, celebrating the bounties of the Scottish coastline by serving up the freshest locally and sustainably caught seafood.
Open to both hotel guests and visitors from 27 May through to 28 August, the Summer Lawn pop-up will be set on the picturesque lawns of Gleneagles, and feature accents of ocean blue, rustic wood and seashells to transport guests from the Ochil Hills to the rugged Scottish coastline. Seasonal dishes at the Seafood Bar & Grill will include a sharp Arbroath smokie salad with apple, zingy Gleneagles crab sandwich bites, the ultimate smoked salmon mac ‘n’ cheese, crispy salt & pepper squid rings and towering fried lobster sliders. Each delight will be complemented by an array of summer tipples courtesy of drinks partners Hendrick’s, Menabrea and Moët & Chandon Champagne.
Those with a sweet tooth need look no further than the tuck shop offering an abundance of soft serve ice cream flavours with all the toppings, from fizzy sweets to chocolate sauce. Guests looking to extend the celebrations should head to the hotel’s elegant Century Bar Terrace which showcases more than 120 single malt whiskies, as well as a curated menu of handcrafted cocktails.
Alongside the Summer Lawn, guests at Gleneagles - famed as the Glorious Playground - can expect a dazzling line up of activities suitable for all generations throughout the summer season. Combining stellar scenery and warm Highland hospitality with more than fifty different country pursuits under the expert tuition of the hotel’s guides and instructors, Gleneagles offers a magical place for adults and children alike to create lasting memories this summer, and beyond.
Gleneagles Executive Chef Simon Attridge notes of the Summer Lawn: “We are excited to be bringing a taste of the seaside to the heart of our beloved Gleneagles hotel this summer. Our specially curated menu will showcase the bounties of the Scottish coastline, combining the finest seasonal and local produce with sweet treats and delicious drinks to offer guests a truly unique experience.”
Summer Lawn will launch on 27th May and will be open 12pm to 6pm daily until 28th August.
Since opening its doors in June 1924, Gleneagles has been one of Scotland’s most iconic hotels and sporting estates. Set beneath the Ochil Hills, in the heart of Perthshire, it has been the must- go destination for travellers for nearly a century. Beginning its life in the glamorous age of travel when guests arrived in great style at Gleneagles’ very own train station, the 850-acre estate epitomizes the natural beauty for which Scotland is famed. With its Glorious Playground of country pursuits and activities, the hotel is reclaiming its place on the social calendar. Further cementing its position as one of the leading properties and luxury hospitality brands in the world, Gleneagles was voted as ‘Hotel of the Year’ at the 2022 Virtuoso Awards, and was ranked among the best hotels in the world in the Condé Nast Traveller ‘Readers’ Choice Awards’ and Travel + Leisure ‘Top 500 Hotels’ list for 2023.
