Grand Velas Los Cabos Offers New Wild Whale Expedition

Grand Velas Los Cabos Offers New Wild Whale Expedition

The AAA Five Diamond Grand Velas Los Cabos resort is offering a new Wild Whale Expedition that features, among other things, a helicopter tour for a unique view of the whale migration and a luxe picnic on the beach in Loreto.

The experience starts when the resort’s helicopter picks up guests from its Terraza del Mar rooftop. From there, they’ll ride to Loreto and see the incredible whales up close in their natural habitat. The largest animal on earth, blue whales as well as grey and humpback whales travel to Loreto from Alaska every year to give birth and hunt for food. Once landed in Loreto, guests will enjoy a delicious picnic on the beach prepared by the resort’s Executive Chef. The three-course gourmet picnic includes options like organic cheese and charcuterie board, grilled chicken focaccia, heirloom tomato salad and cheesecake with a strawberry compote. The picnic also includes an over-the-top cocktail that stays true to the theme by resembling a blue whale. On the way back to the resort, guests will catch an incredible view of the sunset from the helicopter.

Whale watching season runs until April 15, making it the last chance to witness these larger-than-life animals until mid-December when they return, and the expedition will be offered again.

The Wild Whale Helicopter Experience starts at $10,500 USD. Nightly rates are additional and start at $826 per person per night in double occupancy for the Ambassador Ocean Suites.  Gourmet meals, premium branded beverages, 24-hour in-suite service, nightly entertainment, taxes, gratuity, and more are also included in the resort’s nightly rate.
