Grand Velas Resort Riviera Maya Rolls Out Margarita Trolley

Grand Velas Resort Riviera Maya Rolls Out Margarita Trolley
Guests dining at Frida gourmet Mexican restaurant in the Riviera Maya will be saying "Una Margarita Por Favor!" with its "Margarita Trolley." The Margarita Trolley is wheeled to the dinner table where diners choose from a selection of top Tequila brands - Don Julio, Herradura, Frida and Milagro - and margarita flavors. Tropical mango, tamarind, guava, cucumber and traditional lime juices are kept on ice in silver ice buckets. Once diners choose the Tequila and flavor preferences, the bartenders then prepare the margaritas table side and spice things up by serving it in a chili-salt rimmed glass.

Frida restaurant, named after the famous Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, offers gourmet Mexican cuisine by Chef Daniel Garcia Gomez. A sampling of the menu includes Duck Tacos with Anise and Mole Poblano for appetizer; and Flank Fillet with Grilled Cactus and Enchiladas stuffed with Sautéed Lobster for entrees. Desserts include Mexican Chocolate Mousse with Mole Cream, Mango and Tequila Foam Custard and Tres Leches Cake with Caramel Sauce.

Frida is open daily from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Reservations are required. Outdoor terrace and indoor, air-conditioned seating is available.

The restaurant is located at the new Grand Velas All Suites & Spa Resort Riviera Maya, 40 miles south of Cancun International Airport and just five minutes from Playa del Carmen, and is open to the public. For more information and to view the Frida menu, visit www.grandvelas.com.
