Announced during The Leading Hotels of the World's 2013 Annual Convention, which took place in New York, November 24 – 27, 2013, the Commitment to Quality Award was presented to hotel members that ranked highest on their most recent Leading Quality Assurance inspection. Halekulani was the only property in the North America region to earn the 2013 Commitment to Quality Award.

The Leading Quality Assurance inspections, which are anonymously conducted at all properties within The Leading Hotels of the World portfolio, are designed to assess all phases of the guest experience. The detailed point system covers reservations to check-out and every aspect of the hotel product, including reception to back-of-the-house.
