Hard Rock Hotel San Diego is Newest Celebrity Hot Spot
November 27, 2008
Just a short drive south from Los Angeles, Hard Rock Hotel San Diego continues to fulfill its VIP status as a playground for many of Hollywood's elite, offering four star accommodations and world-class restaurants and nightlife in an urban escape with San Diego's signature laid back atmosphere.
Within its inaugural year, Hard Rock Hotel San Diego has been host to some of the largest entertainment events in the region. Beginning with its grand opening in December 2007, featuring a chainsaw ribbon cutting and rooftop concert by the Black Eyed Peas, a constant flux of celebrity guests and exclusive
high-profile events have created an on-going buzz around the property. During the US Open in June, the hotel's 8,700 square foot rooftop outdoor space, Woodstock was transformed into the location for the Lexus Style Villa®. Grey's Anatomy stars, Kate Walsh and Isaiah Washington enjoyed the city's largest after-party celebrating the Open from a custom-built Lexus Hybrid Living Home with other celebrity guests
including Jason Biggs, Aaron Eckhart, Dylan McDermott and it-girl Sarah Larson.
In July, Hard Rock Hotel San Diego was the official hotel partner for Comic-Con, the world-wide mecca for comic book and popular arts entertainment each year. For this year's convention, Hard Rock Hotel San Diego was the premier location for celebrity parties, including the buzzed-about Wrath of Con party hosted by IESB.net and Lakeshore Entertainment. In addition, Entertainment Weekly transformed two of the hotel's 17 Rock Star Suites into its celebrity photo lounge and interview suite, which they showcased on their web site. During her visit to promote her new film, hotel guest Kim Kardashian was filmed for the new season of her hit show, Keeping Up with the Kardashian's. Meanwhile, Hard Rock Hotel San Diego
transformed its luxe VIP Green Room into an exclusive celebrity lounge where celebrities had the chance to mix, mingle and unwind. Among those enjoying the lounge was Guy Ritchie, with stars from his upcoming RocknRolla film, Jeremy Piven, Ludacris, and Gerard Butler. Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly,
and Kiefer Sutherland also made Hard Rock Hotel San Diego a home base while in town for Comic-Con.
The 12-story, 315,000-square-foot property features 420 guestrooms, over half of which are suites, and 17 ultra-luxe Rock Star Suites. Offering a true celebrity experience, the Rock Star Suites take the chic urban loft concept to a new level, with each suite being uniquely designed, including one featuring a fire pit and deck seating for 20, while another boasts a 270-degree view of the San Diego Bay and an outdoor hot tub. One extraordinary Rock Star Suite is designed by the Grammy® Award-winning Black Eyed Peas. The band members will.i.am, Fergie, apl.de.ap and Taboo - collaborated on the design for the suite, which reflects each member's individual style and unique personality.
Property wide, Hard Rock Hotel San Diego's host of attractive VIP amenities includes over 40,000 square feet of unique indoor/outdoor event space; world-famous Nobu restaurant; Sweetwater Saloon and Moonstone Lounge by nightlife entrepreneur, Rande Gerber; casually chic coffee shop, Maryjane's; celebrity favorite, Pinkberry; and the luxurious Rock Spa featuring a state-of-the-art fitness center.
