Health is Wealth: How Longevity is Reshaping Superyacht Design

For the world's wealthiest individuals, the ultimate status symbol is no longer simply owning a yacht, private jet or multiple homes. Increasingly, it is investing in longevity.

As health optimisation becomes a defining aspiration for wealthy individuals, luxury assets are evolving in response. Heesen Yachts' latest design, 72m Project Ananda, reflects this shift, placing wellbeing at the centre of life on board.

Currently under development for delivery in 2030, Project Ananda was created in collaboration with specialists in human health engineering. The yacht will feature a 100-square-metre spa and beach club equipped with a sauna, steam room, ice bath, snow shower and hyperbaric chamber. There is also the option to include a medical treatment room that can double up as a massage room.

The first new design to be revealed since the shipyard was acquired by Laurens Last in 2025, the project reflects a wider trend among affluent consumers towards investing in health, recovery and performance.
