Henry Howard Hotel, New Historic Boutique Hotel in New Orleans

Henry Howard Hotel, New Historic Boutique Hotel in New Orleans
The Henry Howard Hotel has been reinvented as an inspired, service focused 18-bedroom boutique hotel that maintains the authenticity of the original double gallery 1860s townhouse style mansion while adding modern touches. Built by esteemed nineteenth-century New Orleans architect Henry Howard, this sophisticated hotel favors beautiful Greek revival architecture that boasts Corinthian columns and gorgeous galleries with walk-through windows, flooding each room with natural light.

New York city-based Hunter Mabry Design and its Founder, Lauren Mabry, created the vision for the redesign, which sought to honor Henry Howard's traditional historic elements while creating a modern and inviting space. Each thoughtfully designed room will welcome guests with a curated mix of vintage and custom-designed furniture, second line instruments, and commissioned artwork by local artist Hayley Gaberlavage.

The common areas and guestrooms contain accents from graphic designer, Kathleen Fitzgerald. A New Orleans-inspired toile wallpaper depicts a handful of iconic landmarks and colorful characters, including the hotel's namesake, Henry Howard, in addition to custom H wallpaper, resembling the columns on the front porch.

With its sprawling common areas, the Henry Howard Hotel is an ideal location to host special events and parties. The hotel's Parlor, including a bar, 12-foot ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, crown molding and red pine flooring, will set the scene for a variety of affairs, from seated dinners to cocktail parties. The backyard courtyard is fitting for an intimate wedding or social gathering, while the Penthouse Suite will double as a hospitality suite to host bridal gatherings or small groups.
