Christmas Eve

• Christmas Eve Dinner with Live Music: On Christmas Eve, families can gather at the resort’s signature restaurant, Grano, for an untraditional Christmas Eve Dinner that perfectly blends expected ingredients with Costa Rican flair and tradition. Dishes include honey-glazed turkey, crispy pork belly with pineapple chili relish, amongst other dishes, and for dessert, a chocolate and vanilla yule log.

• Christmas Pura Vida Hour: Gather for an opportunity to give back to the local community. Join us as we head to the Hogar Madre del Redentor girls orphanage to personally deliver parcels containing everyday necessities and baskets of food prepared at the hacienda and share our signature Pura Vida Hour with the girls.

• Christmas Dinner: Join us at Grano for a traditional Christmas dinner set against the scenic backdrop of our festively decorated restaurant.

December 26

• El Tope: Line the streets of the hacienda for El Tope, the resort’s take on a traditional horse parade which happens in Costa Rica each year on the 26th of December. A tradition of national folklore, El Tope is the main event for lovers of horse riding born at the beginning of the 20th Century, when farmers would herd their cattle on horseback from one farm to another.

• Hacienda Sunset Gathering: Throughout the year, the resort hosts our extended family – the guests of AltaGracia – for a sunset gathering to celebrate togetherness. During this special holiday period, alongside curated festive cocktails and mocktails, enjoy live music and a traditional performance of Costa Rican Cimarronas.
