Hammock Cove, the luxury, all-inclusive resort for adults only on the Caribbean island of Antigua, has launched a new program geared at gifting the ultimate honeymoon, and giving access to family and friends to pitch in and pay for it. What’s more, in addition to giving a honeymoon to remember, friends and loved ones can gift added extras that give back to the community, including donkey adoption and contributing to a local charity that helps those in need living in Antigua and across the Caribbean.
While the trend of honeymoon registries isn’t new, Hammock Cove can pool all of the “honeymoon donations” to add up to loads of extras like catamaran trips around the island, diving excursions and more. Friends of the bride and groom simply purchase a gift certificate for any amount which can contribute to the honeymoon’s overall cost, or they can choose to foot the bill for an exciting excursion or contribute to philanthropic efforts in the couples’ name.
The Wishing Well, a charity started by Hammock Cove’s sister resorts, is dedicated to helping underprivileged children and adults throughout Antigua and the Caribbean and funds various initiatives including medical treatments and procedures, home betterment projects, and book drives.The Antigua Donkey Sanctuary is located near Hammock Cove, and gives a home to donkeys, each of which can be individually adopted/sponsored by visitors providing them food and medical care for one year.
