Hotel Barriere Le Majestic Cannes Unveils New Lobby During Film Festival
The lighting in the lobby and the concierge desk are the work of the “poetess of light,” Sylvie Maréchal, while the furniture has been created by Henryot, a manufacturer of superb traditional furniture, and a leading expert in cabinet-making since 1867.

With its focus on modernity and traditional French style, the Majestic stays faithful to the qualities which have made its reputation and forged its unique appeal. Danan chose a palette of light shades including cream, ivory and beige, enhanced by the new gold-leaf sheen of the statues, with a hint of warmth added by the smooth wood cladding of the columns. To add an extra touch of intimacy, Danan has designed fitted carpets for the alcoves. Curtains and drapery give the illusion of constant movement to create an escapist feel in a setting which manages to be soft, tranquil, luxurious and cozy.

With 15 years of experience, Danan has an approach to interior design which encourages a connection between hoteliers and their guests. His pursuit of perfection, guided by an acute sense of elegance, proportions, comfort and refinement, allows him to seek out the best creative international talents, reinforcing this impression of perfect alchemy between Classic and Contemporary styles.

Founded in 1867, Henroyt is the oldest furniture business of its kind in France, still operating today. Henryot represents the very pinnacle of French style in cabinet-making, using traditional cutting and wood-working techniques. Dominique Roitel, at the helm of Henryot since 2006, has taken the company along a new path, introducing the “H line” style of furniture which is modern, with the occasional asymmetric feel to its shapes and dimensions, making it ideal for the Majestic.

The new lobby decor has just been unveiled during this year's Film Festival. The Salon Croisette, Salon Dinard and Galerie Lérins are the next parts of the hotel scheduled for renovation, including new acoustics in Salon Croisette and sound-proofing extended to all floors.
