Hotel Excelsior Dubrovnik Unveils Renovation
Featuring beautifully redecorated rooms and suites, a transformed lobby, and a lavishly redesigned Abakus Piano Bar and Terrace, guests are welcomed by new décor and design elements that perfectly compliment the hotel's traditional architecture and storied history.

Impeccable service and stylish luxury has made Hotel Excelsior an undisputable favorite of visiting celebrities and dignitaries, and affords it the legendary status it so rightly deserves. The property has remained a timeless piece of the city's history for 100 years, and is thrilled to begin a new chapter offering revitalized facilities and services for a superior guest experience.

DESIGN AND DÉCOR

In cooperation with a team of renowned Croatian architects and designers, each part of the hotel is a monument in its own right, showcasing the traditional essence of Dubrovnik hospitality to inspire and intrigue guests year round. The architecture firm, Studio BF, captured effortless elegance to emphasize the historical elements of the hotel, while the design studio, Franić-Šekoranja, created a concept that celebrates Excelsior's modern experience. The result is an atmosphere that yields sentiment and style.

Mirroring the iconic surrounding of the city of Dubrovnik, the hotel’s color scheme is comprised of understated earth tones – grey and walnut, with touches of blue and green. The hotel is carefully designed with handcrafted, artisan-style décor: reclaimed woods, sleek finishes and expansive windows framing unparalleled waterfront and city views.

ROOMS AND SUITES

Each of the 158 rooms and suites feature carefully selected details such as light oak floors, custom-crafted furniture, modern area rugs, and double-weave wool bed throws. After careful restoration, Villa Odak has retained the original 1913 aristocratic design details while fully updating the technologies and luxuries for the modern-day traveler. The Tower’s impeccably designed accommodations are outfitted in soothing textural neutrals with dashes of Excelsior's signature shade of warm grey enriched with vivid yellow and blue colors adding a modern yet cozy atmosphere.

THE LOBBY

The hotel lobby is flooded with natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows. Custom-designed light fixtures and furniture embody a vintage charm with a uniquely modern, creative slant. At the center of the lobby is a dramatic and intricate stairwell, a visual experience of its own. Meticulously curated objects greet guests at Hotel Excelsior as if walking through a gallery. In each area of the hotel, is displayed a bespoke piece of furniture, painting, sculpture or digital art-piece chosen specifically to frame the guest experience.

THE ABAKUS PIANO BAR

The Abakus Piano Bar is the centerpiece of the hotel and a welcoming retreat of classic elegance. It adds to the hotel’s unique aesthetic and fluid design – inviting guests throughout the day and evening to refresh themselves, meet friends, network or just relax. Open and warmly lit during the day, the Abakus is transformed into an elegant restaurant and bar once the sun goes down, making it the perfect spot to savor signature cocktails and snacks before venturing into the Dubrovnik night.
