Hotel Hassler Roma’s Michelin-starred Imàgo Restaurant has been recognized with the “Best European Wine List 2024” award by The World of Fine Wines. The global winner will be announced in London on September 16, 2024.
The World's Best Wine Lists is awarded by an international jury of top professionals, including Masters of Wine, world champion sommeliers, master sommeliers and renowned wine writers. Their goal is to recognize the importance of wine selection within a dining experience.
"To have received this recognition is a truly incredible thrill,” remarked Hotel Hassler Roma’s Executive Chairman Roberto Wirth, Jr. and CEO Veruschka Wirth. “To know that we are representing not one city or nation, but all of Europe, is a source of pride and is a great acknowledgement of the high-quality work from our Head Sommelier Alessio Bricoli and the entire Imàgo team,” they continued.
Alessio Bricoli previously worked in a number of Michelin-starred restaurants, with his most formative years spent with Maitre D ’Bruno Borghesi at the iconic Mirabelle Restaurant in Rome. With a WSET Level 3 Award qualification, he has been Head Sommelier at Imàgo at Hotel Hassler since 2017.
The wine list at Imàgo and the Hotel Hassler is extensive, encompassing approximately 1,500 labels, including bottles from Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and the United States. The list also includes a number of Magnum bottles.
Completely renovated in late 2006, and awarded one Michelin star in 2008, Imàgo offers its guests a breathtaking panorama of the Rome city skyline. Chef Andrea Antonini centers his cuisine and wine philosophy around the recipes of Italian and Lazio cuisine, offering a modern and creative spin on traditional dishes. Imàgo offers tasting menus from €210 per person, beverages excluded, as well as an à la carte menu.
