Recently, Hurtigruten’s first hybrid ship, the MS Roald Amundsen touched water for the first time during a ceremony at the Kleven Yard in Ulsteinvik, Norway. This celebratory launch marks a significant milestone in the construction of the world’s first hybrid-powered expedition ship.

MS Roald Amundsen is the first of Hurtigruten’s two groundbreaking hybrid ships, custom built with green technology to explore some of the most spectacular waters of our planet. Construction of MS Fridtjof Nansen, due to debut in 2019, is well underway at Kleven Yards where MS Roald Amundsen is now undergoing her final outfitting.
