Il Sereno Lago Di Como, Lake Como’s first and only contemporary luxury hotel, reopens today for a highly anticipated season. Coming off a banner year in 2018, the all-suite, Patricia Urquiola-designed hotel has received numerous accolades including a Michelin Star for signature restaurant Berton Al Lago, as well as recognition on Condé Nast Traveler’s 2018 “Gold List,” Town & Country’s 2018 “Best New Hotels in the World,” Afar’s 2018 “Traveler’s Choice Award” for Best Design and TIME Magazine’s 2018 “World’s Greatest Places” list, among others.
New additions for the 2019 season include Cantiere Ernesto Riva factory tours where visitors can get up close and personal with revered Italian craftmanship, five- and seven-course tasting menus at Michelin Starred restaurant Berton Al Lago, a boat shuttle service for guests to explore the lake and nearby restaurants aboard the hotel’s custom Riva boat, new spa treatments and guided lake fishing tours for guests.
New for 2019, Il Sereno is expanding its guest experiences with two new offerings:
Il Sereno’s Michelin Starred restaurant, Berton Al Lago, is led by celebrated Milan-based restaurateur and chef Andrea Berton. With more than 27 years of industry experience, Chef Berton has earned four Michelin Stars across three different restaurants. At Berton Al Lago, Executive Chef Raffaele Lenzi, brings Berton’s vision to life, responsible for the daily culinary operations. Together Berton and Lenzi deliver “Italian dishes that are enhanced with a modern twist” which can be seen in simple yet imaginative takes on classic dishes using the finest, seasonal ingredients. New for 2019, Berton Al Lago will offer the Vegetali, Tuberi E Radici seven-course tasting menu, which translates to Vegetebles, Tubers and Roots. Chef Lenzi’s vegetarian tasting menu will even appeal to staunch carnivores with dishes such as Cardoncelli Mushrooms with Lotus Root and Fresh Mint Pesto or the Blackened Yucca Bark. Another new addition is the “Fidati” (“Trust Me”) nine-course tasting menu, which will change daily.
New this season, Il Sereno has launched a boat service designed to help guests properly experience the lake and facilitate access to Lake Como’s best restaurants. Exclusively available to Il Sereno’s guests, the shuttle offers evening transportation aboard the hotel’s custom-built boat by Cantiere Ernesto Riva. Available from 7pm-11pm and costing just zero to thirty euros per person depending on the destination, the boat can take guests anywhere on the Lake between the Hotel and Como in style. For an added dose of luxury, the hotel’s custom-made Riva boats will remain available for private boat service.
To arrive in style, Il Sereno’s very own Maserati Quattroporte, featuring an Ermenegildo Zegna leather and silk interior, is available for private transfer for guests to and from Milan Malpensa Airport or around the roads of Lake Como for the duration of a guest’s visit.
The SPA at Il Sereno by Valmont will unveil Purity, the ultimate anti-aging facial and body treatment designed to lift, sculpt and firm skin using Valmont’s Prime Renewing Pack, V-Shape Filling Cream and Super Helix Treatment. The SPA at Il Sereno is a tranquil and restorative haven located along the banks of Lake Como. The only spa on Lake Como that features exclusive products and treatments from the acclaimed Swiss skincare brand, Valmont, The SPA includes three treatment rooms, two with floor-to-ceiling windows with views of Lake Como and one expansive couple’s treatment room with a built-in shower, along with a sauna and steam room finished with Italian tiles.
