Il Sereno Presents the Perfect Lake Como Itinerary for a Romantic Weekend Getaway

Il Sereno Lago di Como has just unveiled new offerings, making for the perfect weekend at Lake Como. Resting on the iconic shores of Lake Como, Italy, the small and intimate ultra-luxury hotel joined forces with Milan-based designer Patricia Urquiola to introduce a contemporary and more relaxed interpretation of luxury, design and personalized service.

Il Sereno Lago di Como prides itself as one of the most stylish and private sanctuaries on Lake Como and now has created a romantic weekend for two, featuring tours of mid-century properties, an afternoon picnic on the lake, and the happiest of hours on the lake.

  • Morning: Begin with a tour of the spectacular mid-Century Villa Ponti Bellavista, designed by the iconic Italian designer Gio Ponti. The breathtaking villa is nestled in a forest in 3 acres of private grounds with astonishing views of Lake Como and the surrounding mountains. Inspired by the rich Italian history, pieces by Ponti can also be found onsite at Il Sereno in the Signature Penthouse Suite.
  • Afternoon: At the private jetty at Il Sereno, board the Inglesina, a beautiful rowing boat originally built on Lake Como in the 1930’s for English tourists. Inspired by the characteristics of the London Thames vessels, the elegant boat offers guests of Il Sereno a romantic trip abroad. A hand-made picnic by Chef Lenzi, presented in a handmade picnic hamper by Milanese boutique tops off the day for a romantic, water-bound picnic for two.
  • Aperitivo Hour: Join one of Italy’s oldest traditions in Aperitivo Hour in Il Sereno’s Lobby Bar, which holds spectacular lake views. Sip on a cocktail while taking in the sunset over the lake.
  • Evening: Finally, book a reservation at Il Sereno Al Lago for dinner, with three tasting itineraries: “Omaggio a la tradizione”, five dishes of Italian cuisine reinterpreted in a modern way; “Contrasti”, seven dishes based on the contrast of flavors and gastronomic cultures; and “Vegetables, tubers and roots”, seven dishes that demonstrate how vegetables can truly be the main character.
