Itinerary Highlights Include:

• Begin in Tokyo for the perfect blend of traditional and cutting-edge, exploring ancient temples amongst the neon high-rises with the likes of Sensoji temple and the Shibuya crossing. Your Insider tour leader will reveal the places, the culture, and the little things that make a big difference in this exciting city.
• Whereas many will head south from Tokyo, this itinerary heads west to the small city of Kanazawa, which features samurai districts, old tea houses, and Kenroku-en Garden, one of the country’s most beautiful gardens celebrated for its classic landscape designs featuring ponds and streams.
• Enjoy a unique opportunity to visit the small onsen town of Kinosaki Onsen, including a stay at a traditional ryokan, Nishimuraya Shogetsutei. This majestic place sits on a winding river and is renowned for its seven hot springs, which people visit from all over Japan. The best way to experience the town is by staying in one of the traditional ryokans, where you are spoiled with omotenashi hospitality and incredible local cuisine. Insider Tip: The best way to experience the hot spring baths is to don yukata robes and stroll from onsen to onsen, relaxing in each of the different hot spring baths at leisure – an exercise called onsen meguri.
• The tour also heads along the nearby Kyotango peninsula to meet local craftspeople, such as swordsmiths and mother-of-pearl weavers.
• In Kyoto, guests will immerse in the rich history and culture of Japan, exploring iconic sites and the city’s quieter, lesser-known areas as well. Known as the cultural heart of Japan, Kyoto will enchant travelers with its timeless beauty and rich heritage. From the stunning UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Golden Pavilion, and Fushimi Inari Shrine, famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates, to the serene bamboo forests of Arashiyama, Kyoto offers a glimpse into the ancient traditions of this fascinating country. In addition to Kyoto’s iconic sites, the Insider will offer a rare opportunity for travelers to meet a Maiko - a trainee Geisha. Guests will enjoy staying at the recently opened Hotel Higashiyama, which is discretely tucked away in the old streets of Higashiyama.
• Majestic Japan offers a unique opportunity to witness the majestic beauty of Mount Fuji, Japan's iconic symbol. Travelers will enjoy a scenic cruise on Lake Ashi and a cable car ride to the summit of Mount Komagatake, providing breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
• In Hiroshima, explore the revitalized city that has risen from the ashes. Pay respects at the atmospheric Peace Memorial Park and A-Bomb Dome, before taking a ferry to the nearby island of Miyajima, famous for its floating torii gate and friendly deer that roam the streets. The island's natural beauty, friendly deer population, and tranquil atmosphere create an unforgettable experience.
• Finally, the tour ends in the vibrant city of Osaka, where you'll indulge in some of Japan's most delicious cuisine and experience the city's lively atmosphere.

Throughout the tour, travelers will enjoy superior accommodations, combining traditional ryokans with new and classic favorite hotels, delectable local cuisine, and the expertise of knowledgeable guides who will provide valuable insights into Japanese culture, history, and customs.
