In its World's Best Hotels of 2013 survey, Institutional Investor polled 208 senior financial executives from 44 countries who spend an average of 40 nights per year in hotels to determine the top hotels across the globe.
The Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo (pictured) takes the No. 1 spot on this year's ranking, followed by Palacio Duhau, Park Hyatt in Buenos Aires and St. Regis New York. Rounding out the top ten are Plaza Athénée Paris, Peninsula Chicago, Peninsula New York, Peninsula Hong Kong, Burj Al Arab, Four Seasons Boston and Four Seasons Prague.
