At a time when discerning travelers increasingly seek to experience cities less as tourists and more temporary residents, J.K. Place responds with its most forward-thinking concept yet. For over 20 years, the brand has paved the way in contemporary, stylish, home-from-home hospitality across Europe’s most beautiful cities. With intimate properties in Rome, Paris and Capri – each with fewer than 30 rooms and characterful Michele Bönan interiors – the brand has redefined the very notion of the ‘boutique hotel’ through personalized service and an enduring passion for hospitality.
In May 2026, J.K. Place will open the doors to “Casa J.K. Place Roma” on Via dei Prefetti, heralding a new era of hospitality and a different way of engaging with the city. Set within a spectacular 18th century Roman Palazzo just five minutes from J.K. Place Roma, Casa J.K. has been thoughtfully designed to offer the experience of a beautiful private home, effortlessly ready to host with fully equipped kitchens and elegant dining spaces.
The 12 residences will comprise of either one, two and three bedrooms, across three floors, all with spacious bathrooms and extensive wardrobes to ensure comfort for longer stays. The spaces can be easily interconnected and are served by both an elevator and airy grand staircase - its ascent marked by a rhythmic interplay of vaulted arches.
Expansive windows, frame the city in ever-changing vignettes - an elegant composition of domes, bell towers, and hidden greenery that unfolds like a living architectural tableau.
The dining rooms - much like the island kitchens –, crafted from bronzed steel with Calacatta marble countertops - emerge as the convivial heart of the apartments, underscoring the very concept of "home" and a sense of belonging.
The bathrooms are designed around generous marble showers, with select layouts also featuring sculptural, centrally placed elliptical bathtubs. Mirrored surfaces with chrome-steel trim and marble washbasins lend a refined Art Deco sensibility, echoing the elegance of the 1940s, while all fixtures and fittings are by Devon & Devon.
Floors of Statuario marble form intricate labyrinths and geometric compositions, while wall colours introduce a palette of Pompeian red, celadon green, ivory, and tobacco leaf, set in contrast to original ceiling beams finished in crisp white. Salvaged fireplaces from various historical eras add depth and a sense of warmth, reinforcing the intimate atmosphere throughout.
The furnishings are entirely custom-designed, as are the rugs, featuring abstract and linear patterns. Sofas are upholstered in rich Dedar velvets in shades of Jaguar green, scarlet, and soft grey, contrasted by golden-yellow bourette fabrics with delicate chinoiserie motifs that upholster the clean, modernist lines of the armchairs.
The lighting - expertly conceived and modulated - is provided by lamps, wall sconces, and chandeliers crafted from glass, metal, and black lacquer, designed by Studio Michele Bönan.
Within the silent courtyard - between the protective wings of the historic building - lies the restaurant "Al Ventidue." Its glass dome ceiling accentuates the spaciousness of the interior, rendering it as luminous as a jardin d’hiver bathed in that theatrical Roman light - a light that shifts with the changing seasons, atmospheric nuances, and different moments of the day. A travertine fountain, sculpted in the style of nymphaeum, further enhances the enchantment of this surprising place - a setting seemingly suspended outside of time. The culinary offering centers on a reinterpretation of local traditions, drawing its vitality from the classic Italian gastronomic legacy - a heritage recently recognized by UNESCO as an irreplaceable contribution to global culture.
Guests will have access to a state-of-the-art gym with Technogym machines, private lounge, restaurant and bar. Set in the heart of the city close to majestic sites including The Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, and Trevi Fountain, guests will be perfectly positioned to fully immerse in Roman life. As with Capri and Paris, Casa J.K. Place partners with Biologique Recherche for guests to enjoy treatments at its neighbouring wellness space.
Effortless hospitality has long been synonymous with J.K. Place and the first “Casa J.K. Place Roma” will elevate this philosophy, with dedicated chefs, butlers and concierges on hand to deliver Le eccellenze italiane at every opportunity – whether it be an overnight visit, or for weeks on end.
