Introducing The Caravaggio Suite at LA ROQQA, Porto Ercole

Just in time for Summer, LA ROQQA has unveiled its brand-new, ultra-chic penthouse; The Caravaggio Suite – a masterpiece of design and comfort. Uncluttered and refined, The Caravaggio Suite takes luxury to new heights, occupying the entire top floor with four panoramic terraces offering a 360° view spanning the sea, Porto Ercole, Monte Argentario, and the gentle hills of Maremma. Bathed in natural light, the space features three king-size bedrooms, a large separate living room, and terraces that invite guests to soak in the stunning scenery. Inside, the intricate ‘nuvolatura’ lime plaster technique on the walls, terracotta hues, and handcrafted vintage furnishings elevate the authentic Italian aesthetic.

The penthouse can be booked in full as The Caravaggio Suite, or separately to create three individual suites. One section of this division, The Erasmo Panoramic Sea View Suite, honors Saint Erasmo, the patron saint of sailors, reflecting the hotel's deep connection to the local heritage. Caravaggio, the renowned artist and the Penthouse's name’s sake, also has a historical connection to Porto Ercole, where he spent his final days and is buried. His dramatic and naturalistic style, influenced by the Venetian tradition, gained him fame and remains celebrated today.

Tucked away on a small Tuscan island off Italy’s West coast, the new 55-room and suite boutique hotel has been crafted under the ethos of 'new simplicity' and offers a unique blend of modern elegance and timeless charm inspired by the glitz of 1960s Dolce Vita. Designed by renowned Milanese design house, Palomba e Serafini Associati, LA ROQQA celebrates minimalism through carefully curated architectural elements and materials – iron accents, bespoke colors, ambient lighting, and textures enhance the hotel's façade, which is reminiscent of traditional Tuscan terracotta houses.

Beyond the new penthouse, LA ROQQA features a vibrant rooftop restaurant, Scirocco, with breathtaking views over Porto Ercole, in addition to a casual dining spot, Mezzanine Restaurant. The hotel also has brand-new beach club, Isolotto, just a stroll away in a secluded bay with views over the small island after which it is named, and, will be home to two vibrant restaurants. The destination, Porto Ercole, lies on the east coast of Tuscany’s Monte Argentario, connected to the mainland by one road dividing two lagoons. A geological marvel, this rocky landmass was a true island for millennia until it became connected to the mainland by two long sandbars, and for centuries, has been considered one of the most authentic, charismatic Italian seaside towns.
