Jamaica Inn is known as one of the Caribbean’s most exclusive boutique resorts. This year, the Inn is celebrating 60 years of gracious hospitality and introducing new additions and updates on property, including three new beach bungalows, opening of the White River Fish Sanctuary, a Saltwater Sea Bath, and the Jamaica Inn Land of Films tour, amongst other exciting updates.
Expansion of Property with New Bungalows
The newest addition to Jamaica Inn’s inventory is three private beachfront bungalows located on a tranquil cove on the eastern end of the property adjacent to the Ocean Spa. These spacious yet intimate bungalows are each one-bedroom units, including its own sitting room, kitchenette and outdoor verandah space. The bungalows are situated on the most pristine private champagne colored beach and only bungalow guests have exclusive access to the private beach. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy serene ocean views from each bungalow verandah space and relax in the comfort of their private living room. Each bungalow sleeps up to two people and is being offered at special introductory rates.
Saltwater Sea Bath at Ocean Spa
The award-winning Ocean Spa at Jamaica Inn offers guests treatments in an open-aired, ocean-front environment surrounded by bamboo and tropic fauna and has officially added the earth-friendly saltwater sea bath treatment to their wide array of spa offerings. Guests can now prepare for other spa treatments by soaking in the sea bath while simultaneously taking in the breathtaking panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea in Ocho Rios. Sea water has been shown to have many healing and restorative benefits, such as improving circulation, soothing irritated skin, reducing inflammation of joints and muscles and even improving immune system function.
Annual September Yoga Retreat
Jamaica Inn is hosting its 6th annual yoga and wellness retreat September 11 – 16, 2018. This wellness retreat will be hosted exclusively by International Yoga Teacher, Erin Ward, who has extraordinary expertise and understanding of the mind and body. Travelers and the health-conscious will be given the opportunity to connect with themselves for five full nights with the restorative healing and therapeutic elements offered in this retreat, which guests can take home and apply to their day-to-day lives. Amidst the serene backdrop of the pristine Caribbean waters, Jamaica Inn provides the perfect escape for a holistic and renewing experience.
The Jamaica Inn Foundation + White River Fish Sanctuary
The Jamaica Inn Foundation is highly involved in spearheading a Fish Sanctuary off the coast of the property. The sanctuary encompasses a zone which encourages a healthy marine population in order to rehabilitate the precious coral reef system and create a healthy ecosystem. The mission statement for this initiative is “500 in 5,” which simply means that the intention and goal will be to have 500 percent more fish in five years.
Glass Bottom Boat Tour
Guests of the Inn can explore the Fish Sanctuary and the Foundation’s efforts by taking the new Glass Bottom Boat Tour, which offers guests the unforgettable opportunity to experience Caribbean Sea life up close through the pristine Jamaican waters. Guests can learn more about how they can support Foundation efforts by engaging in a Foundation review held during tea time every Wednesday in the library.
Cinephile Film Tour + Package
The photogenic island of Jamaica has provided the beautiful backdrop for many of the great films we all know and love. This winter, movie fans from around the world can meet at Jamaica Inn for a truly unique, behind the scenes tour, provided by Jamaica Land of Film, where they get the chance to see the film locations that are in some of their favorite movies, as well as learn some memorable movie trivia.
