JW Marriott Opens 5-Star Luxury Hotel in Cusco, Peru
An anticipated addition to JW Marriott's global brand portfolio, the new-build, six-floor, landmark hotel offers 153 guest rooms, a three-meal-a-day restaurant, signature specialty bar and lounge, full-service spa and meeting space for up to 130 guests, all steps away from historical sites that date back to the 13th century and right on the grounds of a colonial monastery.

“As the new anchor in luxury accommodations in the Cusco Historic District, JW Marriott Cusco showcases the rich culture of this globally renowned destination, delivering the comfort, elegance and service that luxury travelers associate with the JW Marriott brand,” said Heinz Prelle, General Manager at JW Marriott Cusco.

Accommodations: JW Marriott Cusco's 153 guest rooms include seven non-smoking suites, equipped with luxury bedding and the latest in technology, with supplementary oxygen-enriched systems available in all rooms upon request to alleviate altitude adjustments. Built at the site of the 16th century colonial convent of San Agustin, designated by the Peruvian government a National Cultural Heritage landmark, most rooms house original walls dating back as far as the Inca Empire. Other archeological observation areas throughout the hotel provide guests with a cultural experience before even setting foot outside.

Dining: The hotel's main restaurant, Pirqa (the Inca word for “wall”) serves modern Peruvian cuisine in a setting inspired by Inca's ancient architecture, and is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Qespi Bar is JW Marriott Cusco's signature specialty bar, serving iconic pisco sours and snacks inspired by local cuisine. Open for lunch and dinner, the adjacent Nina Soncco Lounge offers dining alongside a cozy fireplace.

Spa: The Spa at JW Marriott Cusco is inspired by the Inca calendar and their magic rituals, honoring the ancient culture with original treatments that include the Andrean Mud Wrap and Anta Situwai Purification Massage. The Spa spans 3,229 square feet, housing a relaxation pool, whirlpool, dry sauna and steam chamber.

Meetings: JW Marriott Cusco can host group events and meetings for up to 130 guests within its 1,445 square feet of function space. Its Panaka events room is ideal for briefings, business meetings and cocktail events, with professional meeting planners on-site and a selection of authentic event menus inspired by ancient Cusco culture.

Location: JW Marriott Cusco is located just three hours away from the entrance to Machu Picchu, a historic sanctuary and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Located in the heart of Cusco's Historic District, the hotel is in close proximity to attractions that include the Main Square, Cusco's Cathedral, Church of the Company of Jesus, San Blas Neighborhood, Qoricancha & Convent of Santo Domingo, San Francisco's Church and Convent and the Indian Market.
