Kasiiya Papagayo, an eco-retreat overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Costa Rica, unveils the first phase of its evolution with the opening of five tented suites. The new, ultra-chic hideaway introduces a harmonious blend between preserving the environment while offering rustic luxury accommodations.
Set on more than 123 sprawling acres of tropical dry forest, Kasiiya Papagayo represents the vision of a zero-impact wilderness retreat come to life by renowned architecture firm AW². Each structure throughout the property is environmentally-friendly, resting on timber platforms and constructed solely from natural materials, while the flora has been meticulously preserved to leave no trace of disturbance on the surrounding landscape.
Kasiiya’s accommodations include three tented suites overlooking the beach with two more perched from the hillside, evoking a luxury camp experience. Each of the spacious suites are dotted throughout the jungle and include a king size bed, lounge space, closet, bathroom with an indoor and outdoor shower, as well as a private terrace with lounge chairs and a hammock.
The grounds include a beach cabana, sunset deck, library, spa cabin and three-level fitness platform where guests can participate in yoga, meditation, and movement exercises inspired from Capoeira martial art. Meals at Kasiiya are enjoyed together at the restaurant overlooking the beach or at the hilltop Chefs Table and feature flavors inspired by South American cuisine.
The Kasiiya experience is about personal wellbeing while reconnecting with nature. Guests can wake up to the soothing melody of the Magpie-jay, embark on soft-adventure by day and retire into luxurious linens at night. Additional activities on property include snorkeling, paddle boarding, tree climbing, canopy zip line or relaxing on one of two private beaches, while off property excursions can be arranged for horseback riding, ATV tours, sailing, surfing, deep sea fishing, sunset catamaran sails and more.
