Kimpton Armory Hotel to Open August 18 in the Heart of Downtown Bozeman, Montana

The Kimpton Armory Hotel is scheduled to debut in Montana’s Big Sky Country on August 18. The new hotel represents the brand’s first property in the state of Montana. With three dining concepts and a concert venue, the 122-room landmark hotel will offer a gateway to adventure in Bozeman and the state’s wide open spaces.

To mark the occasion, the Kimpton Armory Hotel encourages guests to “Drive, Park, Discover,” this summer, with special offer rates starting at $307 per night. This package includes stylish accommodations at the Kimpton Armory Hotel, a curated travel tote full of house made road trip snacks and parking.

"People from all over the world visit Bozeman to experience the unique natural beauty and the incredible outdoor activities,” said Aaron Whitten, general manager of the Kimpton Armory Hotel. “Our guests will enjoy easy access to adventure in Big Sky Country’s wide open spaces and a quintessential Bozeman experience. At the same time, we will ensure care and comfort through new technology and respect of our current environment.”

The hotel will open with enhanced health and cleaning protocols as part of Kimpton’s Clean Promise, which balances the need for providing guests with an exceptional travel experience while taking extra precautions to protect their well-being. The initiative ensures guestrooms will be thoroughly disinfected between stays, physical distancing will be encouraged and gloves and masks will be available for guests. Located in a landmark National Guard Armory building joined by a new tower in the heart of Bozeman’s downtown, the hotel marries Montana's rugged beauty and the storied history of the building with upscale modern amenities. The Kimpton Armory Hotel takes its mountain modern cues from the art-deco features of the historic 1941 building it is set in. Long a fixture of Bozeman’s downtown, the Armory will once again serve as a central gathering place, welcoming locals and adventure seekers who flock to this mountain town.

The hotel’s 122-guestrooms, including 12 suites, offer a sophisticated, approachable design that welcomes with natural materials and local art. Guestroom amenities include Frette linens, Atelier Bloem luxury toiletries and custom art pieces. Hotel guests can also enjoy complimentary yoga mats, bicycles, a fitness room and a hosted evening ‘adult’ beverage. Set atop the tallest building in town, the rooftop pool, which will open later this summer, provides spectacular mountain views.

With three dining options and a music hall, the hotel provides several unique ways to experience Bozeman while honoring the original design of the Armory building. Focusing on seasonally driven American fare with an upscale twist, Fielding’s will offer an extensive new world focused wine program. Fielding's is the namesake of prolific Bozeman architect Fred Fielding Willson, who designed the original Armory building which opened in 1941. Fielding’s will begin offering breakfast and dinner service, as well as in-room dining.

Tune Up is located in the hotel's basement, but it's far from a speakeasy. Live music programming pays homage to the history of the space as the original “band room” and the rock n’ roll vibe continues through the library of whiskey. A wide range of craft beers from the local microbrewery scene feeds the region’s love of beer. Tune Up’s food menu is concise, featuring hearty bar snacks, apt for sharing and snacking yet ample enough to make a meal of. Tune Up will be open nightly and cater to the late night crowd made up of both guests and locals.

Perched atop the building, Sky Shed is a glass-enclosed rooftop bar with incredible mountain views. Unique indoor and outdoor spaces transform with the seasons, perfect for basking in the sun or getting cozy by the fire pits. The menu focuses on light bites and shareable dishes paired with playful cocktails to match the airy, modern theme of the space. Sky Shed is scheduled to open later this summer.

The hotel's premier event space and music venue, Armory Music Hall, can accommodate up to 500 guests. It will play host to top musical and entertainment acts, as well as be available for private events. In total, Kimpton Armory Hotel Bozeman will offer more than 8,000 square feet of unique and flexible space dedicated for meetings and events.

Surrounded by mountains on all sides, Bozeman offers visitors a unique adventure in Big Sky Country. Outdoor enthusiasts flock to the area for year-round experiences from skiing and snowboarding to fly fishing and hiking. The town is convenient to Yellowstone National Park, national forests, Bridger Bowl, Big Sky Ski Resort and more. From one of a kind boutiques to sporting goods stores ready to outfit visitors for Montana thrills, downtown Bozeman is home to shopping, dining and nightlife set in a turn of the century historic district.
