The Royal Portfolio's award-winning La Residence in South Africa’s Cape Winelands has announced the appointment of renowned winemaker Jacques de Klerk to oversee the production of the luxury boutique hotel’s wines, beginning with this year’s harvest.
Starting with this year’s harvest, all La Residence label wines will be made at Radford Dale’s cellar in Stellenbosch. Jacques will work closely with the La Residence farm team to ensure that all winemaking activities are conducted in harmony with nature, and that the La Residence label continues to stand for responsible excellence. The primary varietals grown at La Residence are Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Guests at La Residence are invited to stroll through the estate’s gardens and continue into the vineyards that surround this landmark Franschhoek Valley property. La Residence wines are a highlight of the wine lists at all Royal Portfolio properties, including Cape Town's Silo Hotel, Birkenhead House in Hermanus, and the luxury Greater Kruger lodges at Royal Malewane.
