Lavender Season at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay Begins April 1

Lavender Season at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay Begins April 1

The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay – the leading Forbes Five-Star oceanfront resort in the San Francisco Bay Area – is embracing the region’s lavender season April 1 through May 22. As part of the property-wide celebration, there will be lavender-inspired menus, an extravagant floral display, signature spa treatment, and more to delight the senses.

Following heavy winter rains, lavender is not the only bloom found in Half Moon Bay. Bright purple rows of lavender from local farms like Half Moon Bay Lavender are met with stretches of yellow mustard seed flowers. The beauty of the spring super bloom does not stop at the door – the resort has brought the outdoors in with an enchanting lobby floral display. Designed and installed by local Half Moon Bay florist Flowers by Edgar, his ceiling display is paired with an Instagrammable photo wall. Additional lobby touch points include signature bouquets by Edgar and lavender-infused water available to guests upon check-in.

Lavender's health benefits manifest within The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay's coastal-inspired Spa. Starting at $320, the resort will be offering the Coastal Lavender Indulgence Treatment. The 80-minute back and foot massage is designed to encourage a restful night’s sleep for jet-lagged travelers and provide relief for painful joints. On their way out, guests can purchase a selection of lavender spa products showcased for a limited time in the resort’s boutique.

Beyond the spa, The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay will host a 50-minute Full Moon Sound Therapy Meditation event on April 6 at 4:30 p.m. Guests will find true relaxation as the vibrations of the crystal bowl allow their body to enter a deep meditative state, guiding them to feel calm, grounded, and focused. Taking place on the white-sand beach nearby, the resort’s meditation expert enables guests to create a spiritual sense of well-being as they listen to the crashing waves. Spaces are $35 USD per person. To reserve, call (650) 712-7000 or email grp_rchalfmoonbayspa@marriott.com.

Lavender-infused cocktails and intricate desserts await at the resort’s waterfront dining venues. Forbes Four-Star restaurant, Navio, will feature the Lavender Bloom white rum cocktail. In addition to lavender simple syrup, Butterfly pea flower is the key ingredient to create its sultry purple hue. Navio’s dessert menu will highlight Black Sesame, a sweet and savory dish complete with notes of blueberry, lavender, goat cheese and a drizzle of honey. At The Conservatory – the resort’s modern beach house-inspired restaurant – guests can sip on the Lady Violet cocktail. The concoction of Half Moon Bay lavender vodka, yuzu, chamomile lavender syrup, and a splash of champagne is topped with edible flowers – another subtle nod to the 2023 super bloom. The Black & Blueberry Crisp dessert is an idyllic finale with a vanilla crumble and honey lavender ice cream.
