Learn Photography in Namibia with World-famous Photographer

Travel specialists Wildfoot Travel have partnered with renowned photographer and founder of the Travel Photographer of the Year award Chris Coe to create a brand-new photography masterclass safari in Namibia.

The brand-new Namibia photography safari tour offers beginners and experts alike the chance to explore the diverse landscapes of Namibia, and capture some of the iconic sites that make the country one of the most enchanting wildlife destinations in the world.

Chris Coe is a photographer with a passion and fascination for natural light, nature, landscape, travel, and wildlife. Coe has been published in a variety of newspapers, magazines, and books, and he has also presented photographic features for TV. In 2003, Coe founded the prestigious international photography awards, the Travel Photographer of the Year, which encourages people from all over the world to apply and achieve exposure for their work.

As part of the new tour, Chris Coe will give group and one-on-one tuition on how to take the best photographs, with the subjects of these shots ranging from the stunning sand dunes of Sossusvlei to the abundance of wildlife roaming the Etosha National Park.

The 11-day safari begins in Windhoek where budding photographers can enjoy a relaxing dip in the pool or begin their adventures early with a number of optional game drives, all heading off in search of the 19 different species of farm game that live here.

The photography masterclass starts in Sossusvlei and the Namib Desert, where guests will drive through the scenic Khomas Hochland highlands before spending the afternoon at the Sesriem Canyon and exploring the Elim Dune. The Elim Dune offers some of the best photographic opportunities in the area, with the soft light of the setting sun illuminating the nearby Rottenkaum Mountain range.

The tour also includes visits to the Namib Naukluft National Park to watch the sun rise – which offers incredible photo opportunities as the soft light and shadows accentuate the towering shapes and curves – as well as a stop at the Etosha National Park in the wonderful and diverse region of Namibiac. Here, an abundance of wildlife is just waiting to be caught in all its glory on your camera, and the game viewing ranges from elephants, lions, giraffes, and cheetahs, to even the elusive leopard, hyena, and blue wildebeest.

A visit to the AfriCat Foundation in the Okonjima Nature Reserve is also on the itinerary, where guests will join the Okonjima guides to search for the elusive collared but free-roaming leopards. Here, there’s also the chance to learn more about the dedicated team of conservationists, wildlife enthusiasts, and experience veterinarians who work here, tirelessly ensuring the long-term conservation and survival of Namibia’s large carnivores.

Wildfoot Travel are an adventure travel company dedicated to wildlife conservation and the protection of the environment, while also exploring some of the most remote and interesting locations around the world. They pride themselves on providing out of the ordinary travel experiences, making them the perfect people to help plan an incredible trip of a lifetime to the isolated, far-flung corners of the world.

The Namibia Photography Safari, led by Chris Coe, is a unique chance to explore the wonder of the Namibian landscape and the wildlife that lives here, while simultaneously learning how to capture these iconic sights from one of the best photographers in the world. A truly incredible and exclusive experience, it’s not one to be missed.
