Live the High Life at Puente Romano Marbella

Puente Romano, an all-suite beach resort set on the shores of the Mediterranean in Southern Spain, is launching private, hosted climbing tours for adventurous families, couples and solo travelers who want to see a different side to Marbella. Taking in the magnificent Sierra Blanca mountain range, each hiking adventure will be tailored to the individual needs of the group’s climbing experience, with three breathtaking routes to choose from. The tours will finish up in undiscovered beauty spots within the region, where climbers will be treated to an authentic Andalusian tapas lunch.

The hiking experiences include:

Beginner: Hike to Ojén – Approx. 2-3 hours

This beginner’s hike begins at the plateau of Juanar, offering an amazing variety of landscapes and tree species to discover. Guests will wander through oaks, pines, eucalyptus, olives and chestnut trees as well as the famous Pinapo fir which is a botanical rarity, found only in the regions of Andalusia and the reef mountains of Morocco. Climbers will be dazzled by the beautiful color contrasts between the bright rock of Sierra Blanca and the natural greenery. Guests will hike through the forest and through an olive plantation to a fantastic viewpoint overlooking Marbella’s coast. The path is easy to hike and suitable for beginners. After the hike, guests will visit the charming village of Ojén and enjoy a traditional tapas lunch.

Intermediate: Hike Sierra Blanca – Approx.  3-4 hours

This intermediate level hike will treat guests to the stunning views of the Sierra Canucha and Sierra de las Nieves. The path leads steadily uphill and once climbers reach the top, they are rewarded with the most wonderful views and a pleasant, downward descent, passing a picturesque Pinsapo Forest. After the hike, guests will enjoy a traditional tapas lunch at the "Refugio de Juanar" and explore the mountain goat viewpoint.

Advanced: Climb La Concha – Approx. 7 hours

This hike is for those experienced climbers who are looking for a challenge. The hard ascend begins overlooking a small Andalucian village and lake in Istán, there is then a steady uphill climb to the incredible panoramic views of the Costa del Sol. Guests will need to leave behind their fear of heights for this hike. Climbers will be treated to a traditional tapas lunch before the descend.
