Loews Hotels Toasts Rio 2016 Summer Olympics with Custom Caipirinhas
Available at Loews locations from coast to coast, the expert mixology teams have developed customized Caipirinha recipes combining the fresh flavors of sugar, Brazilian cachaça and lime for sport enthusiasts to enjoy while watching the global games from August 5-21.

Inspired by the traditional Brazilian cocktail, below is a sampling of local Loews Caipirinha recipes:

  • Loews Boston Hotel "Boston Tea Party Caipirinha"

    • 2 oz Cachaca

    • ½ oz Simple Syrup

    • 2 oz Chilled Green Tea

    • 3 Limes

    • Method: Muddle limes in a cocktail shaker. Add ice, shake the mixture and pour into a high ball glass. Add two lime slices and garnish with a lime wheel.

  • Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel "Cali-rinha"

    • 1.5 oz Leblon Cachaca

    • ½ oz simple syrup

    • Splash club soda

    • 4 strawberries

    • 4 raspberries

    • Small mint sprig

    • Method: Combine the strawberries & raspberries in a cocktail shaker. Add simple syrup, Leblon Cachaca and ice. Shake and strain into 12 oz. rocks glass with ice. Top with a splash of club soda and garnish with small mint sprig.

  • Loews New Orleans Hotel "Crescent City Smashed"

    • 1 oz Cachaca

    • 1 oz Benedictine

    • ½oz Pimms

    • 1 bar spoon HooDoo Chicory Liqueur

    • Lime Wedge

    • Beignet strip

    • Powdered sugar

    • Method: Add two lime wedges and one orange half wheel in large shaker with Chicory Liqueur. Add all other ingredients with enough ice to fit into lowball glass. Shake hard for at least seven seconds, and pour back into lowball glass unstrained. Garnish with a lime wedge and beignet strip dusted with powder sugar.
