Melia Chiang Mai to open in February 2022

Meliá Chiang Mai is slated to open in February 2022. Towering over the Ping River and bustling Night Bazaar in the heart of Chiang Mai in Thailand’s mountainous north, Meliá Chiang Mai is the first five-star hotel to open in Chiang Mai since the onset of the global pandemic.

The 260-key urban hotel’s jewel in the crown is 360-degree rooftop bar Mai The Sky Bar – the highest in the city – on the 22nd floor. Featuring two bars connected by a glass bridge, Mai The Sky Bar offers spectacular views of the River Ping to the city’s east and famed Doi Suthep Temple on the mountaintop to the west.

Meliá Chiang Mai is situated on lively Charoen Prathet Road, close to a broad spectrum of tourist attractions, markets and Buddhist temples, and is six kilometers from Chiang Mai International Airport. With a design that pays tribute to Chiang Mai’s charming history and culture with a contemporary flair, the hotel comprises a striking 22-floor tower fronted by an adjoining seven-floor podium building.

Drawing on Meliá’s Spanish origins and celebrating Spain's famed gastronomy, the hotel’s dining landscape features restaurants Mai Restaurant and Bar and Laan Na Kitchen, bars Mai The Sky Bar and Tien Pool Bar, and lounges Ruen Kaew and The Level Lounge; the latter a 21st-floor executive lounge with panoramic views of the city. Meliá’s signature YHI Spa with seven treatment rooms, a fully-equipped fitness center, swimming pool, ballroom and four other meeting spaces are also among the hotel’s host of facilities for business and leisure travelers alike.

Of the property's room portfolio, 38 rooms and six suites will belong to ‘The Level’, an upgraded level of service and benefits that affords exclusive access to The Level executive lounge. The epitome of elegance, ‘The Level Presidential Suite’ will command 113 sqm of the tower’s top floor with unrivaled city vistas.
