Montage Laguna Beach Enhances the Suite Life

Montage Laguna Beach teamed up with Planning, Design & Application, a hospitality design firm in San Clemente, Calif., to complete the transformation. Sitting atop a high coastal bluff with sweeping ocean views, the suites reflect Montage Hotels & Resorts' commitment to offering guests comfortable elegance and memorable experiences.

ALISO SUITES

Tucked away and tranquil, the Aliso Suites are the ideal choice for those seeking a quiet and comfortable home-away-from-home. The 1,200-square-foot suite now boasts a brick and stone hearth gas fireplace, with controls that enable guests to adjust the glow for warmth, coziness and ambience. Each Aliso Suite has also been outfitted with new materials and décor that give the space a sense of radiance reminiscent of the Southern California sun. Aliso Suites start at $3,000.

SUNSET SUITE

A family-friendly, 1,400-square-foot suite with sunset views overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Sunset Suite has been refreshed with a brightened color scheme, as well as new furnishings and textiles. As guests enter, they are welcomed with a brick and stone hearth gas fireplace in the living room and a stone counter top bar area that is perfect for entertaining. The suite was also optimized to include additional closet space in the master bedroom, a sumptuous sofa bed in the living room and redesigned furniture in the dining area to accommodate families of up to six. Sunset Suite starts at $3,500.

CATALINA SUITE

As the resort's Presidential Suite, the 2,000-square-foot Catalina Suite received an extensive revamp. Upon entering the suite, guests are invited to relax in the living room, now arrayed with detailed mill-work on the ceiling; new reclining sofas, chairs and tables; a 65-inch television; and patio doors and drapery designed to optimize views. In addition to aesthetic enhancements, the Catalina Suite is equipped with state of the art technology by Control4 that lets guests control everything from the door to drapes with just a push of a button on a touchscreen. With this touchscreen, guests can personalize all aspects of their accommodations, including adjusting the LED ceiling lighting and high-end sound system, requesting housekeeping, viewing the hotel restaurant menu, and prompting a Do Not Disturb signal. The suite's dining and kitchen areas have been thoroughly renovated with new hardwood flooring throughout; a dining set beneath the glow of a chandelier; and top-grade appliances including a Viking dishwasher and microwave and Sub Zero wine cooler and refrigerator.

The Master Bedroom, which features a calming blue-coffered ceiling, includes gas fireplace, a 60-inch television, and a built-in dresser. The master dressing area boasts expanded closets and includes a dressing bench and vanity chair to choose the day's ensemble in leisure. The Catalina Suite's bathrooms have been similarly enhanced with new stone floors; a welcoming 69-inch soaking tub; double shower with rain shower heads and hydro-rail shower columns, and double vanity with his and her vessel sinks.

The outdoor area of the Catalina Suite continues to impress, with a 700-square-foot balcony that spans the entire length of the suite. To fully frame the breathtaking vista, the suite features floor-to-ceiling glass doors that slide completely into their pockets on one side and offer gorgeous Pacific Ocean views all around. Catalina Suite starts at $10,000.

Later this year, the Founder's Suite will be transformed and offered to guests as an accommodation option for the first time.
