A desert icon, Mountain Shadows is a newly opened upscale boutique resort with roots in 1950s modernism and history. The original property closed in 2004 and a $100 million new-build resort by the acclaimed developers of Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa and Hotel Valley Ho opened its doors in April 2017. The resort marked the completion of 42 fully furnished luxury resort condominiums, which come with serious perks – from full access to the upscale independent boutique resort and high-tech wellness center to Arizona’s only 18-hole, par-3 golf course, completely redesigned by Forrest Richardson, acclaimed golf course architect. The property is steeped in the history of its previous namesake hotel, which catered to the likes of international globetrotters and Hollywood stars including Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, Elizabeth Taylor, Sammy Davis and Robert Stack. Renowned Chef Charles Wiley stands at the helm of Hearth ’61, serving seasonal American fare made in a stunning exhibition kitchen with a stone oven as the focal point. A brand new fitness center and outdoor pool were unveiled during the opening called The Citizens Club, a high-tech fitness center offering an array of 60-minute classes, two 75-foot pools connected by a modern waterfall feature and dramatic views of Camelback Mountain and the surrounding desert beauty.

Pricing is $2,995 per person, single occupancy or $3,795 double occupancy and includes all activities, accommodations, breakfast (excluding alcohol), taxes and fees.
