Napa's Luxury Wine Tasting Experiences

Napa's Luxury Wine Tasting Experiences

Napa is home to some of the world’s best wines and some of the most beautiful vineyard views, and with over 400 wineries in the valley, it is hard to know which ones to visit. Nestled in some of the region’s hillsides and down a few dirt roads, you’ll find some of the most private, most luxurious and most beautiful tasting experiences that Napa has to offer. Here are some off-the-beaten-path luxury private wine tastings in Napa:

Gamble Family Vineyards: (pictured) In the heart of Napa’s iconic Oakville region is the Gamble Family Vineyards’ private estate, a historic property featuring an original 19th century homestead, horse barns and sweeping views of the valley floor. The Gamble family’s commitment to the environment and regenerative farming practices is captured in everything visitors see, touch and taste. During the experience, one of Gamble’s Private Client Managers provides a vine anatomy lesson and a guided tasting of four delicious and rare wines. Frequently, visitors will even get a chance to meet founder Tom Gamble.

Sullivan Rutherford Estate: At the center of the breathtaking 26-acre Sullivan Rutherford Estate is the family residence and winery, which are open to visitors with an advance appointment. Visitors are greeted with sweeping vineyard views, an estate pond with lush gardens and phenomenal wines. Sullivan features the eponymous J.O. Sullivan Founder’s Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and J.O. Sullivan Founder’s Reserve Merlot at the heart of its exclusive, seated Founder’s Reserve Tasting. Each experience is privately guided by a knowledgeable wine educator in Sullivan’s secluded courtyard garden.

Somerston Estate: High in the Eastern Vaca Mountains of the Napa Valley, Somerston is home to 244 acres of meticulously farmed high-elevation vineyards and is the perfect getaway for those looking for an intimate and secluded tasting experience. The Somerston Tour & Tasting features a 90-minute exploration of the estate that includes a breathtaking tour of the expansive property via Polaris buggy, followed by a private tasting, cheese and charcuterie board, and option for a picnic lunch.
