Nemacolin Woodlands Resort Opens New Holistic Healing Center
Located in Horizon Point, adjacent to Falling Rock boutique hotel, Nemacolin's Holistic Healing Center focuses on integrative healing methods designed to achieve life balance and wellness, and offers exclusive spa services ranging from acupuncture and therapeutic massages to healing meditation and stress relief therapies.

“The Holistic Healing Center is the brainchild of Alik Minikhanov, a licensed acupuncturist, massage therapist, healer and member of the Nemacolin Woodlands Spa team for over thirteen years. Alik's passion has been to develop a center which provides an environment conducive for healing,” said Lori Shubert, Spa Director at Nemacolin. “The reality is that our owner, Maggie Hardy-Magerko, supported his efforts and dreams and saw a genuine need within the region to provide such services.”

This state-of-the-art facility features four treatment rooms, a Thai room, a group and private meditation room, private consultation space and an outdoor multi-purpose terrace for hosting fitness and meditation classes. Under the direction of Shubert and Minikhanov, a team of spa professionals hand-selected the center's 11 dedicated treatments including two signature services, designed by Minikhanov himself – the Acu-Kila, which incorporates Russian, Swedish and Asian massage techniques as well as acupuncture, and the Acu-Vitality, which integrates massage techniques, acupuncture and energy work. “Our collection of treatments were specifically chosen to target the healing of mental and physical issues such as stress release, illness, recovery and weight loss.”

The luxury resort has also developed an Advisory Board and partnered with healthcare professionals, Dr. Lana M. Kontos, N.D., a Board Certified Naturopathic Doctor who has studied nutrition in and out of the classroom for over 30 years, and Dr. Michelle Thompson-Olson, D.O., an integrative family medicine physician who treats the root causes of health problems, not just the symptoms. Under their consultation and guidance, future developments from special events with guest speakers to expansion of onsite physicians, nutritionists and therapists are being planned.

The emphasis on lifestyle and well-being will transcend the Holistic Healing Center's walls, as Nemacolin plans a series of Wellness Weekends including, “A Life Changing Weekend of Wellness,” scheduled for May 9-11, 2014. Package details and reservations are available. The resort also plans on refocusing their dining options with new Healing Menu items throughout the resort's Restaurant Collection and growing their current fitness and spa programs.

The Holistic Healing Center is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments are now being accepted. For more information about Nemacolin's Holistic Healing Center, please visit nemacolin.com.
